Aussie auction seasons kicks off with Shannon’s Melbourne Summer Classic sale

Shannons will kick of the auction season next month, as their Melbourne Summer Classic Auction is set to take place on February 18 in Melbourne.

48 cars will make up the expansive offerings for the evening, and 28 of them will be up for no reserve!

There could be real value in the mid-range Aussies and Euros on offer; like Lot 82, a no reserve 1976 HX Monaro GTS manual with an estimate of $25,000-$30,000.

Or Lot 78, an ’88 VL Berlina Turbo with an estimate of $18,000-$24,000.

 Lot 5 sees a 1980 Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 up for grabs, with a seriously tempting estimate of just $5,000-$8,000 no reserve, or Lot 16: an XC Fairmont GXL Sedan with a no estimate reserve of $8,000-$12,000.

At the top end of the night, the two big-dollar lots will be Lots 80 and 81.

Both offered with no reserve; Lot 80 sees a 1969 Holden HT Monaro GTS 350 pegged with an estimate of $160,000-$180,000; and Lot 81 sees an ’85 HDT VK Brock SS Group A with an estimate of $160,000-$190,000.

It’s a massively diverse auction, with a welcome bias towards more affordable and mid-range cars. We're eager to see the results come February 18.
