Brand new never-registered 90s modern classic saloons uncovered.

With every ‘barn find’ that surfaces around the world, we’re left thinking that surely; we must be close to exhausting all there is to find.

But perhaps there will always be ‘barn finds’. It seems that even in more recent decades; people are still stashing away cars shortly after taking delivery, as we see here in this decades-lost collection out of Bulgaria.

No less than eleven 1994 BMW E34 5-Series’ were uncovered, a consummate modern classic by all accounts – yet barely club plate eligible in Victoria, and years away in many other states.

It’s the modernity that makes this find unusual.

Most are base-model 520is, with a few 525is thrown in the mix; all bearing BMW’s naturally-aspirated inline-six, and most in manual guise. There’s even a rare touring (station wagon) model sitting there in the lofty warehouse.

Motor1 reports that the cars were bought by a car rental company that failed before the cars ever gained registration, leaving the cars in storage before ever seeing the road.

The cars looks in fair condition, though the new owners will surely have some work to do after they’ve been left sitting for over two decades.

It doesn’t exactly look like "dry" storage, and many of the cars show signs of oxidisation and some signs of surface rust on the dusty exteriors and undercarriages.

All cars look perfectly salvageable however, and in the case of the interiors, engine bays and boot wells; are brand new and untouched.

Motor1 purports rumours that the cars will be sold off in the coming months, and may ultimately leave their native Bulgaria as local laws disallow older cars with outmoded emission standards to be registered as new.
