This MG TC was built on the 12th of July 1948, about mid way through the production of the 10,000 built in total. The TCs red coachwork reflects its well loved life following a restoration believed to be some time in the 1970s, this is complimented by 16 Chrome Wire Wheels that give the TC a more Surefooted feel on the road and many other Chrome fittings also set off its appearance including the Lucas Headlights and the Chrome Radiator Shell fitted with red slats.

Details: Oldtimer Australia is delighted to offer for sale this magnificent 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 that was restored to SS Zagato specifications by marque experts in Melbourne. This particular chassis left the Alfa Romeo factory in the second half of 1929 as third series 6C 1750, being one of 278 Sport series cars built. The original chassis was understood to have been bodied as a two door cabriolet by the coach builder Viberti from Torino. The known history of this particular car dates back to the early 1960s when the car was discovered in California, USA. The car passed through a number of owners in the USA before being offered for sale at Coys Auction in London in 1988. The car did not sell at auction, however, it was sold soon after to a well-known Australian car collector. The car was involved in an accident whilst still in the UK and that was the catalyst for the owner to remove the original heavy body. The chassis, body and engine were separated and ended up in different countries across the globe. The chassis was sent to Australia and the plan was to build an Alfa Romeo special. The chassis was shortened to Super Sport (supercharged) specification from 2.92m to 2.75m. That is where the project stalled and it was sold in circa 2006 to another prominent Australian car collector who planned to restore it. Accompanying the chassis were all the necessary parts to build a short chassis supercharged car. The new owner immediatelyengaged the services of HVR (Historic and Vintage Restorations) in Blackburne, Victoria and work on the car commenced in earnest. Shortly thereafter the opportunity arose for the cars then owner to purchase the original Mrs Jones Alfa Romeo 6C and the project was on sold to an Adelaide-based enthusiast in 2008. He retained the services of HVR who painstakingly and meticulously restored the car over a four year period. The all aluminium body was built by local coach builder Mark Rye.The Alfa Romeo 6C engine is understood to have been rebuilt to around 1,900cc capacity and fitted with a supecharger. The restoration was completed in mid 2011 and the car was used on a few rallies and then exhibited at Motorclassica 2012. It was subsequently sold to a well-known Perth based car enthusiast and been used sparingly since. Whilst the car looks fabulous it is even more engaging to drive!
