A chopped-up VW Beetle with an added utility bed has caught the eye of some classic car lovers and the scorn of others with this unique take on the ’67 classic.

The chop job was primarily aimed at the rear of the beetle, which has been removed to allow for utility that the classic two door body wouldn’t usually afford.

Up for $6000 USD, the modified Beetle has certainly raised eyebrows with potential buyers slamming its 3-inch deep flatbed as unusable and calling the whole job sacrilege to what was originally a car lover’s dream.

Despite some harsh words, the well looked after VW has served its two owners well and is only being sold on because of its current owner’s infrequent time at home.

This good looking oldie apparently still runs well despite the many years under its belt, even after the conversion it underwent in the 80’s. Under a loving hand, this special car is sure to serve well for many years yet.

Currently located in Elijay, Georgia this Beetle seems to be a unique take on the classic that can be much loved by the Beetle collector that sees its potential.
