Handsome classic upmarket sedan: very original, well-maintained, numbers-correct, 273ci V8, auto

Chrysler’s VE Valiant launched in 1967 with an all-new design. Despite sharing some sheet-metal with the US Plymouth-badged Valiant and the Dodge Dart, the Australian VE Valiant was distinct with a smoothed-out body yielding a lower and longer look.

The bones of the floor were carried-over from the preceding VC, but the car gained in both overall length and in wheelbase.

The local ‘Big Three’ manufacturers at the time were battling intensely on the sales charts, and the new Chrysler VIP was the Pentastar’s answer to Ford’s popular Fairlane.

Highly-specified for the time, the VIP gained a V8, three-speed TorqueFlute auto, power steering and power front disc brakes as standard.

This 1968 example presents well with its numbers-correct 273ci V8 and Torqueflite in place, and wearing mostly original paint.

The VIP Valiant is said to have been well-maintained showing 97,577 miles, and is in good running condition. The car is said to present rust and damage free, and in very original condition throughout save for minor paint touch ups over the years.

This particular car is also a part-time star, having been featured in Season 4 of the Channel 9 program, ‘The Love Child’.

If this handsome classic Australian executive tickles your fancy, you can find it in New South Wales listed for $35,990.
