LAST OF THE MK2 SERIES
The Iconic Mk2 is Jaguar's Archetype Sports Sedan with its Enduring Shape, Style and Performance. Released in 1957 with Production Continuing Until 1967, a Total of 83,976 Examples were Produced, Including 2.4L, 3.4L and 3.8L Variants All Available with Either Automatic or Manual Transmissions. Towards the end of their production life the Mk2 range was rationalised to the 240 and 340 with 2.4L and 3.4L engines respectively. These were effectively a continuation model of the Mk2 with some 2788 produced between 1967 and 1969 before the introduction of the new XJ6 series.
Finished in Classic, Old English White with a Red Ambla Interior, this Jaguar 340 Manual with Overdrive and Chrome Wire Wheels still Ticks all of the Boxes for classic style. The Interior features the classically styled Wooden Instrument Panel with matching Door Cappings and surrounds. The trim appears to be Original and is in good condition for its age. Jaguars of this vintage are a Delight to Behold from the drivers seat with the 110mm Smiths Speedometer and Tachometer behind the Original Steering Wheel, right in Front of the Driver, to the left of the Driver is the centre control panel housing a row of Smiths 50mm minor gauges, below which sit an impressive row of Toggle Switches, just like the 340s sister, the iconic E-Type. The Period feel of the Interior is completed by the presence of HMV Push Button Radio.
Under the bonnet is the Iconic Jaguar twin overhead cam Six Cylinder Engine, this time in 3.4 Litre guise with the addition of twin 2 HD8 SU Carburettors to give the 340 some Extra get up and go, there is also an Alternator and Power Steering to provide added Driver Comfort.
This Jaguar 340 will Delight its new owner, the Four speed Manual with Overdrive Gearbox gives an Ideal Ratio for any situation, whether it be a visit to your local Coffee spot or a longer journey perhaps for a Long Weekend away.
