Show winning, truly outstanding, exceptional provenance, top class quality, unique, rare and ultra-stylish are all words that can be used to describe this very special car. This really must be one of the very best examples available and is an unrepeatable opportunity. Presented in first class condition, previously owned by the Vice Chairman of the UK Renault Club, with MOT's back to four years old, 58,000 miles from new and the 2010 winner of the Renault Heritage World Series Best Pre 1979 car, this Renault Caravelle will not disappoint and is an incredibly sought after, desirable car as result. The original Green 'buff' logbook confirms OYR 280F left the factory in White, was first registered on the 17th October 1967 to a lady, Doctor Johnson in Pinner, Middlesex. Early services are recorded on the original Renault Guarantee Folder. Renault Limited, Acton, London serviced the car at 3001, 6144 and 9402 miles. Statham Limited in Pinner then serviced the Renault at 12177, 15300 and 17838 milesbefore Renault Limited at Acton took over servicing again at 20968 and 24626 miles. Two further service stamps are recorded at 27297 and 28874 miles in 1974. MOT's show the Renault was last tested in Middlesex with its first owner in 1976 at 33843 miles and it then spent several years off the road, being re MOT tested with its second owner in 1983 in Waltham Cross and service receipts from this period are still with the car, many from Renault main agents Mitchell & Walsh Ltd in Enfield. In 1987 The car changed hands for the third time, moving to nearby Hornchurch in North East London where it stayed with one owner for 21 years. In 2008 the Renault sold to its fourth owner, the then Club Vice Chairman based near Barnet. It was during this time the car was subject of restoration work carried out by marque specialists JL Engineering in London including upgrading the car with a totally rebuilt Alpine A110 1380cc engine. Invoices for a significant amount of mechanical work are with the car. Five yearslater, the Renault was in Enfield before selling to the most recent owner who has cherished and nurtured the car as part of his multi car show standard private collection. Today the Renault still presents in outstanding condition with a truly superb, stunning straight bodyshell that gleams with superb paintwork and chrome. The interior is beautifully finished with stunning largely original upholstery, re-trimmed carpets and hard top headlining. Various interior chrome work has been replaced and the inside of the car is ultra-stylish with a real art deco 1960's feel with some beautiful original features in place. On removing the factory hard top the car is ideal for summer use and it really is glorious to drive. Its smooth, quiet, classy and very lively offering a wonderful driving experience. This must be one of the best in existence and is a former 'concours' winner that has been kept in outstanding showroom condition. We love finding cars like this, it's a great find and will not be easilyreplaced. The Caravelle comes with its original logbook, early stamped service history folder, service invoices, restoration invoices, over 30 MOT certificates, original brochures, manuals and handbooks. Price: 29,995

Assembled in Brazil in 1967 using parts shipped from GermanyImported to the UK in 2013/14Subsequently restored by the vendor over 5 years with assistance from VW specialistsThis year marks the seventieth anniversary of the first production of Volkswagen's ubiquitous Type 2, a design credited to Dutch importer Ben Pon. His concept, penned in 1947, was to place the driver over the front axle and the engine over the rear, allowing for maximum load capacity and manoeuvrability. The result was a vehicle that survived with numerous modifications until 2013.For many, the quintessential VW Type 2 is the earliest model, whose twin front windscreens gave it the nickname 'splitscreen' or 'splittie'. Built in Germany until 1967 and then under license in Brazil, the Type 2 came with a variety of body styles including commercials, a Kombi with removable rear seats, and the enduring camper. This left-hand drive VW Type 2 was constructed in Brazil in 1967 from parts reportedly shipped from Germany in 1965. It wasimported to the UK in 2013/14 after which the vendor commissioned a comprehensive restoration. It now presents very well as a 15-window bus with a tasteful full interior camper conversion including oak bench tops, electric sink, dual gas cooker and a double 'rock & roll' bed. A Kenwood sound system and Wolfsburg West seat belts top off the restoration.Significant mechanical refinements were also made, with bills showing a full refurbishment of the 1600cc unit by renowned engine builder Harry Harpic with MoFoCo cylinder heads, genuine horsehair filters and Solex carburettors. The four-speed gearbox was rebuilt by Pete Englezos from Cogbox, then installed with an EMPI short shifter gear stick. The vehicle, offered with V5 and extensive history file, is now described by the vendor as in 'excellent' condition throughout. A unique bus, it combines the enduring appeal of the 'Splitscreen' with many sympathetic modern interior and mechanical elements that will undoubtedly make it a wonderful place to campor enjoy as a family classic.
