A truly spectacular example of these wonderfully elegant 'slope back' Bentley Continental's - and most unusually this one sports a pair of rear wheel Spats too The history folder is quite excellent, with original correspondence from the very earliest portion of BC41BG's life Originally supplied through Mayfair and World renowned dealership Jack Barclay there are within the folder many service records, internal memorandums and also the original sales contract - its all really quite charming to behold The first owner exchanged his 'D' series 'R' Type Continental plus a wad of money for this, the then latest and most up to date Continental available at the time - how times change and now his original car is worth twice the value of this, the replacement I wonder which is really the better car - the S1 Fastback is certainly far rarer than the 'R' Type Continental JB's supplied her to the first 3 owners, it would seem from the papers and serviced her throughout - by 1960 over 52.000 miles had been covered It's funny how many visitors ask us here in the Mews whether these old cars can cope with regular use - when you look at the number of vehicles which have covered over 17.000 per annum, like this did in the first 3 years, it really makes one wonder what they thought these cars, or their owners, did all those years ago? The last two custodians of BC41BG are very well known to us here in Kensington, the former carrying out a full suspension overhaul as well as a complete engine rebuild at his local specialists near to his home in Colchester (5.000 miles only since these works were completed) and the most recent engaged us to strip her to bare metal, repaint her beautifully (making the new rear wheel Spats at this time) and also to completely re-trim the interior and boot compartments She presents, almost to perfection, whilst on the road she performs with quite astonishing aplomb - the freshly rebuilt engine is delightfully quiet and smooth, matching perfectly the seemless gearbox operation The interior is, to quote the wonderful Noel Coward, "quite devine" and a most comfortable place in which to travel; again it has to be acknowledged that the S1 Continental does take a lot of beating All in all this is one of the very nicest, if not possibly the very nicest, Fastback S1 we have come across and for the next custodian, we can confirm she gathers rather a lot of attention, from all the right people and in just the right way too

History shows that only twice before has Ferrari attached the ultimate mark of speed and desirability to a street machine, namely the 1962 250 GTO and the 1984 288 GTO - both were defined by performance and an intention to go racing. At the time of the new models announcement in 2010 Ferrari claimed that the 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) was their fastest ever road car. When reading the statistics on this car they are not just impressive, they really are awesome! With an engine producing 670 PS (493 kW; 661 bhp) at 8250 rpm and 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque at 6500 rpm. Ferrari claims the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph). The numbers tell only part of the story. Naturally handling is exemplary and road presence is extraordinary, but in addition is another quality present in only the truly thoroughbred automobile. Impossible to describe but unmistakable when in its presence, we therefore recommend urgent inspection.Thisremarkable Right-hand drive, UK Specification, Ferrari 599 GTO F1 was delivered new in 2011 and has since covered only 9,277 miles. The Mugello Rosso special two paint finish is stunning and complimented with a Red & Black two tone interior. Equipped with a very high specification of options, the list is as follows; Heat insulation windscreen, Instrument panel with red leather, metric system instruments, cascade telematic navi system, front and rear parking sensors, drivers seat adjustment device, Bose Hi-Fi system, coloured steering wheel, coloured special stitching, interior 3D fabric colour, 4 point safety harnesses, door sill covers in carbon, Rosso Scuderia brake callipers, carbon fibre headlight bucket, underdoor cover in carbon fibre, Ferrari telemetry, coloured upper dashboard, special paint colour, two colour painting and the sublime carbon fibre racing seats. This awe-inspiring Ferrari is available for immediate viewing

To many observers the Aston Martin DB5 is the epitome of the companys models during the David Brown era, boasting both beauty and refined high performance. It is also perhaps the best known Aston Martin in the world, having starred in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, complete with machine guns and other gadgetry. In evolution terms the DB5 is a Series V DB4 but with a 4.0 rather than 3.7 litre engine, its coachwork embodying detail changes; it thus featured similar stunning styling from Touring of Milan, incorporating DB4 GT-style faired-in headlamps, with aluminium panels attached to a lightweight steel frame using Tourings Superleggera method of construction.Underneath the platform chassis used independent coil spring wishbone front suspension with a live rear axle located by Watt linkage and parallel trailing arms. Disc brakes were fitted all round, but the Girling items of the DB4 GT rather than the DB4s Dunlop discs.Following its launch in July 1963 in saloon and convertibleforms the DB5 received much praise, not least for its performance. A maximum of 148mph in standard trim, allied to 0-60 and 0-100mph in 7.1 and 16.9 seconds respectively, made the DB5 one of the fastest cars available and a match for the very best from Europe. Its production, however, was fairly short-lived, ending in September 1965 after 1,021 had been made; of these only 123 were Convertibles while just 65 had the Vantage engine. This early matching numbers DB5 was first registered in late 1963 in the colour scheme of Caribbean Pearl with a red Connolly leather interior, and fitted with the ZF 5-speed gearbox. The supplier dealer was Brooklands of Bond Street (the Aston Martin agent for Londons West End at the time), with the first owner being the head of Manger & Henley Ltd. of Borough High Street, London. We note that the build sheet also details service work carried out between the cars delivery and March 1970 (at c.45,000 miles), by which point ownership had passed to builder Jack Rhodes. JackRhodes was a successful builder with a liking for the Good Life, however the recession of the late-seventies hit the building industry hard; Jacks business took a downturn and many of his assets (including his treasured Aston) had to be sold.In 1986 the car was bought by John Goldsmith of well-known Aston Martin specialists Goldsmith & Young, at which point this luxury sports GT car become a successful historic racer. As such the car was modified for racing with wider arches to accommodate different wheel choices, which it still wears today. We note that plaques still on the steering wheel show it achieved fastest laps at Brands Hatch in 1986 and at Oulton Park in 1987. In the early-nineties the car changed hands again, being purchased by a Mr. Pitkethley who maintained the car well; in 2000 the engine was rebuilt to a fast-road specification, the conversion raising the capacity to 4.2 litres with Cosworth pistons. The Aston was also refinished in its current livery of Silver Birch with blackleather upholstery. In current ownership the Aston has benefitted from a thorough inspection, and we feel provides an enticing prospect for either fast road use, or concours restoration. The DB5 is offered with comprehensive documentation, a heritage certificate, UK V5 document and current MoT. A good example of the definitive GT car of the 1960s, and one with a fascinating history.

The DB6 was the final evolution of the Aston Martin that had started with the introduction of the DB4 back in 1958 and it departed from that evolutionary path to a far greater degree than its predecessor the DB5. The 'Superleggera' principle of body construction was largely done away with in favour of more traditional methods with a resultant weight saving. The wheelbase was increased by 4' which gave the cabin more room and for the first time the car became a true four seater! There was also a marked styling difference over the DB5 convertible with the 'Kamm' inspired tail, reflecting the Project 214 race cars, which greatly improved the DB6's straight line stability. The DB6 also had the best version yet of the Marek 4.0 litre 6 cylinder unit with improvements in standard form to develop a power output of 280 bhp. With the increase in wheel base and improvements to rear suspension and engine development the DB6 was considered the best Aston yet to drive. The convertible version of the DB6 or'Volante' as it was now known, was launched at the London Motor Show in 1966 and only 140 examples were produced before Mk1 production ceased in 1969. This DB6 Volante was first registered in December 1966 to Ralph Hilton Transport Services Ltd, a major road haulier from Charlton, London. It originally left the factory in Dubbonet Rosso with Natural Connolly and with the addition of chrome road wheels, 3 ear hubcaps, seat belts and power aerial. It is unclear how long Mr Hilton kept the car for but at some point it was registered in the Channel Islands before being returned to mainland UK in 1984. The car was subject to a restoration several years ago when it was re-painted in dark metallic blue and trimmed in Grey hide. It has more recently been brought up to the superb condition you see it in today by Desmond J Smail Ltd.
