There is no doubting the Aston Martin DB5s classic credentials. With some justification it is often referred to as the most famous car in the world. DB5s adorn collections worldwide. Of no doubt also are the credentials of Led Zeppelin. Rock anthems such as Stairway to Heaven, performed by Robert Plant CBE, have endured and with some justification. The band have become an icon of 20th century popular cultural. The Aston Martin DB5 we are delighted to offer, chassis number 1744/R, was built in 1965 and found its way into Robert Plants ownership in the early 1970s. Robert Plant, a West Midlands resident, held ownership until the summer 1986, when it was sold to father and son collectors, also based in the West Midlands. Shortly thereafter the car was entrusted to Aston Martin agents, Chapman Spooner, for restorative works bringing the car to its current and exemplary condition. Entered into a number of AMOC and local concours during the 1980s, the car remained in this ownership until 2008 when it was purchased by the current owner from Nicholas Mee & Co. Used very sparingly and kept in a controlled environment since 2008, yet regularly maintained by the owners local and respected Aston Martin Specialists. Mechanically excellent, with only the lightest signs of use, this iconic car can most accurately be described as having received, a Whole Lotta Love. [sic] Available to view now at our showrooms in West London.

A truly spectacular example of these wonderfully elegant 'slope back' Bentley Continental's - and most unusually this one sports a pair of rear wheel Spats too The history folder is quite excellent, with original correspondence from the very earliest portion of BC41BG's life Originally supplied through Mayfair and World renowned dealership Jack Barclay there are within the folder many service records, internal memorandums and also the original sales contract - its all really quite charming to behold The first owner exchanged his 'D' series 'R' Type Continental plus a wad of money for this, the then latest and most up to date Continental available at the time - how times change and now his original car is worth twice the value of this, the replacement I wonder which is really the better car - the S1 Fastback is certainly far rarer than the 'R' Type Continental JB's supplied her to the first 3 owners, it would seem from the papers and serviced her throughout - by 1960 over 52.000 miles had been covered It's funny how many visitors ask us here in the Mews whether these old cars can cope with regular use - when you look at the number of vehicles which have covered over 17.000 per annum, like this did in the first 3 years, it really makes one wonder what they thought these cars, or their owners, did all those years ago? The last two custodians of BC41BG are very well known to us here in Kensington, the former carrying out a full suspension overhaul as well as a complete engine rebuild at his local specialists near to his home in Colchester (5.000 miles only since these works were completed) and the most recent engaged us to strip her to bare metal, repaint her beautifully (making the new rear wheel Spats at this time) and also to completely re-trim the interior and boot compartments She presents, almost to perfection, whilst on the road she performs with quite astonishing aplomb - the freshly rebuilt engine is delightfully quiet and smooth, matching perfectly the seemless gearbox operation The interior is, to quote the wonderful Noel Coward, "quite devine" and a most comfortable place in which to travel; again it has to be acknowledged that the S1 Continental does take a lot of beating All in all this is one of the very nicest, if not possibly the very nicest, Fastback S1 we have come across and for the next custodian, we can confirm she gathers rather a lot of attention, from all the right people and in just the right way too

Fully restored Original 3.7 litre engine specifications Original Buff log book Substantial MOT history Presented to Concours standards Original colour paintwork to highest standard Delivered new in 1960, this delightful DB4 Series II must have considerably brightened the day of its first Bradford based owner. Finished in Wedgwood Blue with off white hides, it was supplied through distributors Charles Sydney and there can be little doubt the neighbours would have taken note not just from the DB4s tuneful exhaust rasp! This superbly restored example of what is generally regarded as the prettiest of the DB4 evolution, was originally maintained by Aston Martin themselves before passing to its next North of England based owners. The original Buff Log Book and build sheet supplied with the vehicle history file, including a large quantity of MOT test certificates dating from 1967, attest to the mileage of just 66,000 covered from 1960 and confirm that the original registration number still applied. The car is restored to its original 3.7 litre twin carb and big valve engine specifications by well-known and highly regarded race engineers, Peter Chambers Automotive, employing parts supplied by renowned DB4 parts specialists Aston Service Dorset. The thorough restoration can most accurately be described as meticulous and true to its origins. A complete resume with invoices for labour and parts used, accompanies the substantial history file. Restoration works included chassis, body, bare metal paint, complete re-trim in Mid-Blue hides, engine re-build and restorative works to gearbox, axle, brakes suspension, fuel system, instruments, wiring, chrome plating and glass. After close inspection in our Heritage workshops, it is evident all works have been completed with great care and attention to detail. Since completion, this stunning car has been driven sparingly in dry weather and would undoubtedly fare well in any concours event, whilst providing the new owner with the enjoyable driving experience this model is noted for.

1925 Bentley 3/8 litre Supercharged special. Chassis number: 1186 Registration: YL4119 Not one for the faint of heart; putting out 511hp at 3839 RPM. Affectionately known as: "The Missile". Chassis 1186 started life as a 3.0 litre Gurney Nutting Saloon. In 1989 it was acquired by A. (Andrew) J. Day who decided to build a 3/8 litre special with supercharger giving phenomenal power. Andrew built the car for racing but with the brief that it also be tractable for touring; a 6 1/2 Litre engine was thus sourced & upgraded to 8.0-litre specification. The Supercharger, manifold arrangement & drive chain case are all "one off" designs cast & machined accordingly. The billet crankshaft & Carillo con rods are phoenix sourced items. The Supercharger is mounted parallel to the crank shaft & all is enclosed within the bonnet. Steve Grosvenor was entrusted with the design drawings & pattern construction, he being a specialist design engineer, and a first class neat installation resulted. During development, a new 8.0 litre block was used with American Arias Pistons, oversized valves, & a special cam shaft produced by Zephyr Engineering. The Exhaust system and "tuned sound" was constructed by "Len the pipe". Three SU carburettors complete the picture, two on the off side manifold & one tucked away to the front of the exhaust manifold on the near side. The car has hydraulic drum brakes all round attached to original front & rear axles having tie bars to the front & tie rods to the rear. The D-Type gear box drives through a heavy duty Borg & Beck clutch. On a rolling road, the car was recorded as putting out 511BHP at 3839 RPM. The immense power means the wheels will spin in first second & third gears, 60 mph being attainable in first & 90 in second. A full quotient or instruments are fitted to the machine turned dash including a large Jaeger Tachometer. The car is in pristine condition throughout & ready for serious road use or racing. It sports a gorgeous 2 seat boat tailed body that is rakish in the extreme & is finished in, needless to say, traditional British Racing Green.
