"Back in the late 1990s…a prototype called the Holden Concept Coupe was taking shape, behind closed doors and after hours, and it was starting to look sharp. So sharp, in fact, that somebody high enough in the organisation decided it needed to be the star turn at the 1998 Sydney Motor Show." So says our backgrounder on this series.

The rest, as they, is history and the final generation of the Monaro soon found its way into dealerships and the garages of a few lucky owners. While it’s not yet a classic in the accepted definitions of such things, it is nevertheless well on its way to becoming one.

This example in Purple Haze is a V8 6-speed manual with relatively modest mileage. Trimmed in leather, it’s available through Australian Muscle Car Sales at $68,990.
