Straight six legend

If you hanker for a '49-51 Mercury lead sled, but don't have the budget, a Hudson of this era can give you a similar vibe without having to lay a hand on the gas axe. This ’49 is a jump-in and cruise classic, with the owner having down the hard yards by putting the car through an extensive resto.

The six-pot was given a slight massage to 267ci during its rebuild, but both it and the original three-on-the-tree manual gearbox are original units and were considered quite the grunters back in their day. Inside is full black leather interior with push-button start, with a right hook conversion.

The car is up for grabs in Queensland for $89,000.
