This may be the cheapest way into a sporty two-door V8

The C4-generation of Chevrolet Corvette launched in 1984 and represented an evolutionary jump from the curvaceous and swooping styling of the 1970s C3.

With an all-new chassis, electronic dash, and a modern wedge-shaped silhouette; the C4 brought the previously ageing Corvette (the C3’s chassis was carried over from the C2 which originated in 1963) firmly into the 80s.

It was an instant strong-seller, with over 50,000 produced in its first year on the market. Over a 12-year production run, over 350,000 were produced.

Despite their prolific numbers, the C4 has long been one of the more affordable ways into Corvette ownership, with most collectors flocking to the more classical earlier generations.

It may not have the chrome-bumper classic cachet of its elders, but it is certainly one of the cheapest ways into a sporty two-door V8 of any sort.

This 1989 convertible example emigrated to Australia as a personal import, and is fitted with a Queensland ADR compliance plate along with its original build tag.

It also has the correct modification plate for its right-hand conversion.

Presenting in factory specification with its L98 350ci small-block V8, four-speed auto, and electronic dash in place.

Overall paint is good with some minor chips on door edges, and minor blemishes to side panels from age. The red interior is clean and in fair condition with some creasing to the leather seats observed.

As a complete package for the dollar; it certainly seems like a fair amount of car for the money.

The C4 Corvette is based in Queensland, and is listed for $16,000.
