Chevy Nova II wagon with LS V8 at auction
Chevy Nova wagon is a rarity.

Among the numerous transports of delight at the online Lloyds American Muscle Car auction is this, a Chevy Nova II wagon.

Essentially Chevrolet's answer to Ford's mid-size Falcon in the USA, the Nova II was built from 1961 to 1965. Numerous engine options were available, starting with a 2.3lt four, through two straight sixes and two V8s all the way up to a 327ci (5.4lt). Transmissions were a three or four-speed manual or two-speed Powerglide.

Nova coupes have been getting some serious market traction locally, however wagons are something of a rarity on the Australian scene.

This example is running right-hand drive and, more significantly, a realtively modern LS-series engine up front. It's carrying Qld modification plates, so it has some level of certification. The listing saysd it also has a four-speed auto.

This would be an interesting thing to own and the modern mechanicals should give it a high level of reliabilty.

At the time of writing, bidding had reached $7300. You can see this (lot 9a) and the full auction listing right here.
