Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1916 Packard Twin Six Typhoon For Sale. This Series One Packard Twin Six was first owned by an Australian, and was originally fitted with a tourer body. Returning to England in the 80s and being laid up until purchased by the current owner in 2012. With the body being unusable he decide to set about recreating the Typhoon Body from original pictures, only making subtle changes to please the eye. The result is truly remarkable with a huge open wheeled racer that looks fit for Goliath. The overall condition is exceptional with not even a drip of oil on the 6950cc, 3 bore, 5 stroke engine. The engine is mounted to a 3-speed gearbox and an overdrive addition on 2nd and top gears allowing an increased top speed and taking the strain from the engine, the Typhoon really is a pleasure to drive on the road with a more than acceptable cruising speed as well. The dashboard is made from beautifully varnished wood adorned with period Jaeger instruments and three switches for fuel, ignition and overdrive. The front seats are finished in period styled button leather with the drives seat fitted to adjustable rails. Removing the rear compartment cover unveils a beautiful single rear seat, covered with the same button leather, there is also a selection of tools and a custom fitting cover. The car have been loved and used in various events including Beaulieu, Prescott and even took 4th place (out of 200) in the 2017 Brooklands Double Twelve Event. In our showroom and ready for viewing. Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1930 Packard 733 RS Golfers Coupe For Sale. Registration: BF 8602 Engine no: 293269 Chassis no: 2750 Mileage Shown: 49,175 The Packard Motor Car Company was one of the longest-lasting of the original American independents. Founded in 1899 in Ohio by the Packard brothers and George Weiss after the latter was frustrated when his suggestions on how to improve his own Winton automobile went ignored by the company. Packard would go on to make startling inroads amongst wealthy Americans by concentrating almost exclusively on high-end cars. Eventually, the automaker would find a broad audience in Europe and Asia as well for its exquisitely styled and powerful vehicles. By the time the Depression hit, Packard was able to leverage its unique single assembly line system (with all cars based on the same basic platform) to ride out the economic chaos and in fact while away the malaise by producing some of its most opulent models. The Packard offered for sale is indicative of this unusual strategy. Featuring an inline or 'straight' eight-cylinder engine good for between 90 and 110 horsepower from its 5.4 litres of displacement, the '733' in its name denotes its overall length of 134.5 inches. This particular model could be had with and without a roof, as well as in sedan, limousine, and even seven-passenger editions, deftly illustrating the interchangeability of Packard parts on its one-platform system. A four-speed manual transmission was standard with the vehicle, alongside drum brakes at all four wheels. The 733 was a very popular model for the brand, and the fact that Packard was able to sell just over 28,000 vehicles in 1930 a mere one year after the stock market crash was a minor miracle. This striking example comes to us in overall great condition, originally built in America and most of its life has been spent in Canada. A full restoration was undertaken in Canada during the previous owner 30 year ownership. The Brown and Cream exterior has help up in great condition, the matching roof and luggage box are showing some lovely patina, the fabric has begun to age, and in doing so has improved the appearance. There is a Golf bag side door to the passenger side; this allows access to a generous storage compartment behind the drivers seat. There are Tiffany signatures on many features including the running board plates; these were designed by the iconic luxury company. All of the chrome around the 733 is in good condition; there is also a folding trunk rack to the rear to allow for more storage. The back of the rumble seat has minimal wear, it would appear that it has barely used to sit on, and most likely was used for storage instead. During the restoration the interior was re-trimmed in buttoned and fluted velour, this was completed to a high standard and is still in good condition. The matching numbers 5.4 litre, straight 8 fires instantly, and idles with ease. Driving down the road it is clear the maintenance has been to a high standard, the engine is smooth and responsive; this certainly is an excellent driving machine. Other features include: One shot lubrication system, going to 42 points along the chassis. Trippe twin fog lights. Packard hand operated spot light. Packard See Right wheel mounted wing mirrors. Door mounted wind wings with opening front screen. Original stainless steel Packard Goddess with radiator cap. Correct lights front and rear. 6 volt system with electric fuel pump feeding auto vac. Jaeger 8 day clock. This is a well sorted Packard Coupe which runs and drives amazingly, in our showroom and ready for viewing. This exceptionally well presented, rare Packard 22nd Series Six Sedan was built in RHD format on the 24th February 1948 at the Packard Motor Companies Factory in Detroit, USA and then shipped to Cape Town, South Africa where it was first registered. The car comes with the most magnificent, detailed, comprehensive history and has arrived with us beautifully restored having had 31,000 spent since 2009. 164 XUT has led a fascinating life and comes with a packed history file of interesting stories and letters covering almost its entire life. The car was first owned by a farmer, Mr Havenger, in Rhodesia who owned the Packard for around 20 years. The Packard was to be eventually used as a tractor and by June 1968 it was found in an abandoned state and derelict in a Tobacco farm field. The car was discovered by Adrian Trebicki who negotiated to buy the car by trading a crate of beer. A memo notebook from 1968 is with the car detailing new parts and work being carried out to the car and it was this ownerwho kept the car for over 40 years, eventually shipping the car to UK as he career led him here in the 1980's. The new owner restored the Packard in Rhodesia during the late 1960's and put the car back in regular use, even touring South Africa at one stage. A comprehensive file of notes and invoices from the late 1960's and early 1970's is with the car. The long term second owner moved away from Rhodesia to work in Ghana during 1976, driving the car from Rhodesia to his parents in Pretoria, South Africa. The fascinating history file still retains letters from the Exchange Control Department at Standard Bank in Rhodesia to the owner's parents as the Packard had not been exported correctly back into South Africa, just driven over the border from Rhodesia and left at his parents' property. Eventually, after several months of correspondence the issue was dealt with. There are even letters from the owner Adrian to his parents from Ghana in the file, along with his International Driving Permit that isstamped as 'not valid' for Ghana. In 1981 Adrian Trebicki moved away from Ghana to work for Leyland Trucks in the UK and shipped the Packard over from his parents in Pretoria. Even this led to a story, with welding bottles on the ship falling and damaging the cars roof. A whole file of paperwork details the saga on its arrival in the UK. On the 19th March 1981 the car was MOT tested by Naylors Motor Sales (Leyland) Ltd in Leyland, Preston with a recorded mileage of 31871 and UK registered for the first time. The paperwork suggests this was the correct mileage from new. Insurance paperwork throughout the 1980's and 1990's is with the Packard but the car was unused throughout this period. In 2009, after 41 years, the Packard changed hands, selling to an architect in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. Having been unused since its arrival and MOT test in the UK, the Packard needed restoration and the new owner then spent 31,000 taking the car to a beautiful standard. Having covered around 200 miles since MOT in1981, the Packard was put back on the road and MOT tested at 32084 miles 28 years later in 2009. Whilst the Packard was re-commissioned and MOT tested in 2009, the actual major restoration lasted over three years. Invoices, photographs and a six page detailed report itemises all work carried out. The body required major restoration and a full re-paint, all brightwork was removed and sent for re-chroming, rubbers replaced, new tyres fitted, the upholstery was beautifully re-trimmed, all gauges and dials overhauled, and electrics renewed as required. The Packard was mechanically overhauled and since then has been beautifully maintained, carefully looked after and has covered less than 1000 miles since completion of the major restoration. 164 XUT has now arrived with us in beautiful condition with stunning paintwork, a lovely straight restored bodyshell and the attention to detail is evident with its beautifully presented interior and clean engine bay. The Packard arrives with us in strong mechanicalorder, its six cylinder engine is in excellent order, the column change gearbox a delight to use and the Packard handles and brakes well and is lovely to cruise in. This really must have one of the most comprehensive history files we have seen, the car has a real story and it's interesting to read how a family cherished and really loved this car for most of its life. Adding to the many files and several boxes of invoices, letters, correspondence, notes, notebooks, e-mail dialogues and technical notes is a beautiful original Packard Service Manual for both body and chassis, original parts catalogue, handbooks, data sheets, brochures and much more. This is a special car and it must be preserved, enjoyed and cherished. There probably isn't another one in the World like this. Price: 29,995
