If your intention was to make a grand entrance at a car show, a full-size Rolls-Royce from the early 1930s would be very difficult to beat. The sheer presence of these cars, almost regardless of the body type fitted, is astonishing.

In a feature on another variant of the Phantom II platform, our writer notes: "The Rolls-Royce Phantom II introduced in September 1929 was a big step up from Henry Royce’s earlier designs. Unlike the Phantom 1, which had inherited its underpinnings from the preceding 40/50HP Silver Ghost, the Phantom 11 employed an entirely new chassis design."
