1968 Mustang Eleanor - today's tempter
Silver screen hero
It’s one of those cars that seems to have inspired builds across the world: The Mustang fastback Eleanor of Gone in 60 Seconds movie fame.
Numerous builders have had a go at replicas over time, many of them ultra-high-end builds with no expense spared.
This example would appear to be one of them, put together by US Classic Muscle Cars in Melbourne.
In a 2018 feature we noted: "While it may look like any other Eleanor replica you’ve seen, Richard and Dylan at US Classic Muscle Cars have created an absolute monster with plenty of engineering, research and development and a thought-out solution to every single detail underneath their creation."
This car is running a supercharged 4.6lt quad-cam V8 claiming around 550 horses, matched to a six-speed manual transmission.
Located near Melbourne, it’s on the market for $420,000.
