Ford XA hardtop GT tribute - today's tempter
Kiwi build
Seventies Ford hardtop prices have been hard to keep up with lately, with some extraordinary results from recent auctions.
What isn't in doubt is that there is strong demand for these cars.
While real GTs are clearly at a premium, decent tribute builds have found their place in the market.
The example above started life as a more humble 500, but has since had a 351 and four-speed loaded into it as part of what looks like a big restoration.
The catch for local buyers is that it's across the ditch in New Zealand - at Timaru, south of Christchurch on the south island.
Asking price is NZ$125,000 (@ Au$116,000).
We've done a lot of with Ford hardtop features over time and one of the more intriguing XAs was this this one-off promo car - shown above.
