Looking for some car-related Christmas gift ideas? Here's a few thoughts to get you started

datsun-model.jpg

If you love the Dato 240Z, and who doesn’t, here’s your chance to snaffle a 1:24 scale model of the car made famous by Brock Racing Enterprises in the USA. Not our Peter but ironically the name Brock is synonymous with a car brand in another land. This beaut-looking limited edition 1970 Dato 240Z race car is decorated in the Brock racing livery and superbly detailed true-to-scale right down to its rubber tyres. If only the lifesize ones were this affordable. Available from Gamesworld stores for $69.99

2. CHARGER CELEBRATION BOOK

chrysler-book.jpg

There are plenty of clubs out there that publish there own mags and websites, even the odd book. However this item takes the game to a whole new level. The Charger Club of WA recently completed a massive undertaking, featuring the cars of their members – with many non-Chargers among them. In fact, if it was a Chrysler, it got in. There is also a wealth of period PR and advertising material. This massive book costs $150 + $30 postage and is a unique record of local Mopars. chargerclubofwa.asn.au

3. RACING FALCONS POSTER

Racing Falcons from the XR GT to the XY GT-HO are depicted in this limited-edition poster signed by factory team-mates and Bathurst winners Fred Gibson and Allan Moffat, who between them gave the blue oval three Mt Panorama victories in this era – Gibson in 1967 in the XR-GT, Falcon’s first win, and Moffat’s two in 1970 and 71 in Phase I and II GT-HOs. So if you love Bathurst and Aussie muscle cars, this poster is a must. It comes with a photo of both Allan and Fred signing the posters. Priced at only $60 plus freight. autopics.com.au

porsche-badges.jpg

Like the Porsche itself, these high-quality grille badges come from the fatherland and celebrate the competition victories of the brand when sports cars were as famous as F1. Both badges depict the famed Martini Racing logo and dark blue, red and silver hues from the heady days of the 917 and LeMans. The stylish metal badges are screw mounted and specifically designed for the grille of the 911. $165.96 from Porsche Cars Australia.
