This is a one of a kind 1968 HK Premier. I bought this car around 30 years ago. I bought it from the wife of the original owner who had recently passed away. The story his wife told me was her husband was a general manager at Holden when these cars were being made. According to his wife, said her husband took exceptional care of the car, it was always stored in the garage, and that he only drove it on certain occasions and only in nice weather. It only had 57000 miles on it when I bought it. This is where I discovered that it has been custom built to her husbands wishes.
When her husband ordered the car, he had it built to his own specifications. The first thing is the dash board. As far as I am aware, this is the only HK Premier that rolled of the line with the Monaro dash instead of the standard Premier dash. In addition to the dash board, according to the owners specifications, this HK rolled of the line with built in steering wheel lock. According to the wife it was built with a long range fuel tank. It also rolled of the line with a vintage valve pull out radio, that is still functioning.
When I bought the car, it was always garaged. I only ever took it out in nice weather, and only on certain occasions. In 2005 I moved to the USA. The HK remained garaged firstly at my parents house then later at my brothers house. To this day it still only has 57700 miles on the original 186 motor with the powerglide transmission. Look at the photos closely and you will see that even the old original window stickers are still intact and in great shape.
The owners manual and a service manual come with the car, although the service manual is a replacement. I also purchased the original workshop manual that the auto shops used to make any repairs, that also comes with the car. Also I had intentions of detailing the engine bay before I moved. I had all the engine bay stickers and decals scanned and printed, these will also come with the car.
The exterior is in very good to excellent condition. The interior is in pristine condition. My plan was always to bring it to the USA. However, after having lived here for some time, I just dont think it would be appreciated as it would be back in Australia. So i have made the difficult decision to sell it.
Feel free to reach out for more information of photos. Even though my brother will be the one selling it for me on my behalf, please email me if you have any questions first
