1970 Rover P6 3500 (RHD) for sale in London One of the best examples for sale anywhere Recipient of a stunning restoration Fabulous condition throughout The P6 was announced on 9 October 1963, just before the Earls Court Motor Show. The vehicle was marketed first as the Rover 2000 and was a complete 'clean sheet' design intended to appeal to a larger number of buyers than earlier models such as the P4 it replaced. The 3500 was introduced in April 1968 (one year after the Rover company was purchased by Triumph's owner, Leyland) and continued to be offered until 1977. The manufacturer asserted that the light metal V8 engine weighed the same as the four-cylinder unit of the Rover 2000, and the more powerful car's maximum speed of 114 mph as well as its 10.5-second acceleration time from 0-60 mph were considered impressive, and usefully faster than most of the cars of this price and specifications. In comparison, tested by Motor magazine in the issue published on 20 April 1968, it achieved a maximumspeed of 117 mph, 0-60 mph in 9.5secs, with a standing quarter-mile in 17.6secs. Despite being at the time considered the pricier and intelligent choice over the then long in the tooth Jaguar Mk.II, the P6 has remained relatively under-appreciated by comparison, however, this beautiful nut-and-bolt restored example is sure to change that. Finished in fabulousZircon Blue with Black Leather trim and originally registered in June, 1970, it is fair to say this is one of the best P6's we have encountered in many years and remains in fabulous condition throughout. All chrome, rubber and paintwork are exemplary, as is, understandably, the underside of the car. The door-shuts are superband the engine performs wonderfully. We are confident this example will impress under any inspection therefore viewing is highly recommended. Now available for viewing at theDD Classics Dealership in London, pleasecall 0208 878 3355 for more information. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the aboveinformation but errors may occur. Please check with a salesperson.

![CDATA[The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 44 years. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. By 1969, the muscle car race was on and Ford offered a 351, 428 Cobra Jet and other performance engines available in most models and often ordered with the Fastback and Mach One cars. The '69 Boss 302 and Shelby (available since 1965) were speciality Mustangs offered with both high performance engines and race-breed suspensions. Ford added a Fastback to its 1965 Mustang line-up and theconvertible holds a special place in American culture and was heavily publicised as a car to escape the mundane nature of life. This 1970 Mustang certainly looks the part being presented with its bright red coachwork and contrasting black trim. It was imported from South Carolina in 2015, where it was in single ownership for the previous ten years. The Mustang is currently fitted with the larger 351ci (5751 cc) Windsor engine, replacing the original 302ci (4900 cc) unit and is fed by a four-barrel carburettor, whilst power is transmitted, via the automatic gearbox, to the American Racing chrome wheels. The suspension is fitted with adjustable air shock absorbers at the rear and the power hood may be selected when the weather and driver dictates. The car will arrive at the sale complete with four volumes of factory workshop manuals and three files of history containing works carried out and details of previous owners. Also included is the UK V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate, with no advisories, valid until January 2019. With summer approaching, its time to get out the sunglasses and cruise.]]

![CDATA[Handles like nothing else can...the Lotus Elan.Colin Chapman said... In producing the latest Lotus Drophead and Fixedhead Coupé models, my design team set out to combine the outstandingly successful chassis, suspension and handling of the Elan with finely styled bodywork which would add functional good looks to the traditional Lotus handling and safety. Finally, I demanded even higher standards of safety, quality and reliability than those which have made the Elan famous. All these objectives have been achieved in the new Lotus Elan S4 and I am proud to offer it for your consideration'. To say that driving the Elan is immense fun is almost an understatement. It is a car which keeps young men young and makes old men younger...' a journalist once quoted. The Lotus Elan features a very strong steel backbone chassis on which is mounted, like a saddle, a GRP body. It has 4-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension all round. Power is delivered from the famous Lotus 1558cc twin cam enginethrough a Ford 4-speed gearbox to the rear wheels. This results in a compliant ride and very nimble handling characteristics. The Elan has enjoyed significant success in motor sport since the days it was launched and is evident in large numbers in historic racing. The Special Equipment' version differs by having servo assisted brakes, an SE engine developing 118 bhp instead of 105 bhp, safety belts, a leather covered steering wheel, knock-on wheels with chrome embellishers, carpeted boot interior and Special Equipment badges. This lovely righthand drive example in Brooklands Green was first registered in 1970 in the UK (WFL 70H) and then spent its first 24 years in Germany and was then stored. It then underwent a restoration between 2004 and 2006 when its bodywork colour was changed from its original colour of red to its present colour; the car then went to the new owner in 2006 in Austria. It comes with a black interior which is very good condition and has only been driven in dry weather since itsrestoration, covering a mere 12,000 miles between 2006 and 2017. This iconic and wonderful example comes with electric windows, new tyres, new hood and full tonneau and an history file including Austrian registration document and the Austrian equivalent to an MoT. ]]
