On offer for sale is this 2000 Holden Commodore Team Brock Future Tourer raced by James Brock in the 2000/2001 BOC Gases Australian Super Touring Championship. Originally built by Brock under the Diamond Valley Speed Shop banner after Brock had claimed victory in the inaugural category race at Mount Panorama in 1999 with a VS Commodore, this VT Commodore made its racing debut at Oran Park in July 2000 and competed in Brock Jnrs hands with backing of V8 Sleuth partner Biante Model Cars. The car also saw a certain P. Brock jump behind the wheel for some practice laps, including. When the BOC Gases Series under TOCA Australia stopped after the summer of 2000/2001 season, the car ended up competing in a handful of Future Tourer races at Power Tour/Super Truck events and was later used as a driver training car under the Team Brock banner, updated to VY specification. This incredibly special Holden Ute was built for James Brock and was produced by Wayne Park in Queensland who was the original builder of all the V8 Brutes. James Brock first competed in round three of the 2003 V8 Ute Championship at Wakefield Park and went on to finish 3rd in the Championship that year along with numerous pole positions and lap records. In the same year James and Father Peter Brock drove the car together and won the Great Aussie Ute Race which was held at the Bathurst 24 Hour Race at Mount Panorama. In 2004 the car was driven by Damien White who along with a string of pole positions and lap records won that years Championship. James Brock then went on to race the Ute again in 2005 under the Team Brock banner and under the Brock Race Engineering banner in 2006. James would go on to race the Ute for the last time at the last round of the Championship at Eastern Creek in 2006 where the car finished in 3rd place. The car still proudly wears its Team Brock livery today.
