1933 Rolls Royce 20/25 Thrupp & Maberly Sedanca. Chassis number: GLZ47 Registration number: ALL700 Just having emerged from a stem to stern restoration to the highest standards; this car was awarded 99 out of possible 100 points by Rolls Royce Enthusiast Club Judges at the Rockingham concours. The one point being deducted for the two tone paint continuing inside the door shuts where the judges felt it out to be all black. This car is as close to how they left the factory as any we have had. The restoration was a meticulous affair taking several years. with the body being entirely removed from the Chassis whilst it was being rebuilt. There is a photographic record of the various steps taken & the build up of the car. Efforts were made to do it detail perfect with correct cotton covered cables being sourced in the appropriate colours & installed with Ross Courtney crown wire ends. Coachwork is a particularly elegant effort by Messers Thrupp & Maberly. taking the form of a sedanca de-ville with division. A swage line loops up over the boot round the rear quarters & then along the roof line to the sedanca front. A smokers hatch in the roof affords light to the cabin giving is a spacious feel & affording fresh air to the rear occupants. The spare wheel is rear mounted & sits within its own case. The interior is finished in Burgundy leather all in as new condition. The interior woodwork has been beautifully refinished with just the right dull sheen to match the original finish. High-quality Wilton carpets are fitted throughout. To the boot lid is a full tool kit. missing one spanner during our visit as it was in the owners house! The exterior paint is maroon & black with over £30K being spent on it alone. I am not going to waffle on any further about the condition of this car as perfection needs few words. Simply put you have to see it to believe it. It won its class at The Rolls Royce National & was runner up in the masters. High Praise indeed. .. 1926 Rolls Royce 20hp Barker Barrel sided tourer. Chassis number: GZK10 Registration number: WU6110 A rare example of a 20hp wearing its original & much imitated Barker Barrel sided tourer coachwork. The car was dispatched to Barker & Co at Olaf St, Notting hill on 31st march 1926 where its current body was fitted. The car has lovely burgundy hides in perfect condition to the seating surfaces along with maroon carpets & a brand new hood bag & full length tonneau cover. The canvas roof is beige & a full set of matching side screens come with it stored in the back of the front seats. The car is painted in white with the paint being in good condition. Overdrive is fitted making for relaxed crusing at modern highway speeds. Plenty of imitation barrel sided tourers come to market, but it is rare to find one with its original Barker coachwork as fitted when new. When new this Rolls Royce 20hp Barker Barrel sided tourer was supplied new via a London-Agent to Miss Sutcliff of Scaitcliffe Hall, Todmorden, Lancashire. Subsequentley purchased by former Ford Works Rally driver Eric Jackson who owned the car in a personal collection for almost 30 years. During his period of ownership the car was completely restored in Eric Jackson's workshops. The engine was removed and bored out to + 60 (which is equal to a Rolls 20/25); it had an overdrive and a new prop shaft fitted; whilst the original Barker coachwork was restored with running boards, completely resprayed and reupholstered in red leather. The vehicle travelled to Ireland, France, Norway, Sweden and the Isle of Man on RREC rallies with Mr Jackson. As well as copy chassis card records, accompanying paperwork includes a charming letter from Major Andrews' son which reveals that the 20hp spent time on the Continent and was used for numerous holidays. 1931 Lagonda 2 Litre T2 Low Chassis Tourer. Chassis number: OH10038 Registration number: AR-02-85 Immaculately restored, this car started life as a T2 low chassis tourer as indeed it is today. The car has covered 10,000 miles or so since the engine was rebuilt & the body fully restored covering limited mileage each year. To the interior is Maroon leather throughout in simply lovely condition along with maroon carpets. A brand new black full tonneau cover keeps the elements at bay. The exterior is black fabric to the body panels along with black painted wings & bonnet. The chassis is burgundy making for a very fine looking ensemble indeed. The car comes with a new hood & newly refinished side screens. A Kenlowe fan is fitted, but the owner reports he has never had recourse to use it as the car runs cool in hot weather & traffic. Mechanically the car is superb. The rebuilt twin cam engine fires readily & provides ample power for the light body. The car has the cycle type wings that turn in unision with the front wheels. The original tear drop running boards are also in situ. This is an impeccable car that has been superbly looked after since restoration. We will be doing a full set of pictures as soon as the car arrives with us towards the end of April unless already sold. It comes with a good assortment of paperwork, correspondence & pictures dating back to the Early 1950's A gallery of large high-resolution pictures may be viewed on our website. 1930 Rolls Royce Phantom II Tourer. Chassis number 151XJ Registration number GC2351 Vintage and Prestige Fine Motor Cars are proud to be offering this 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer for sale.A very imposing and impressive Phantom II which comes with copy bills close to £90,000. Most recently a vast amount was spent on the Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer preparing it for the Peking Paris Rally which it handled with aplomb. A further £20K was spent upon its return. The 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer is finished in a bright red with black wings with the paint being in really superb condition, not long ago having been done. The front wings are light and sporting descending to the running board in an elegant uninterrupted curve. Rear wings are also light weight. The 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer is a full four seater and has the option of either a front bench seat or a pair or more comfortable chair style seats giving good lateral support. The bench seat is currently fitted. The hood is easily erected and mounts via a latch with two thumb screws to the angled V windscreen. The spare tyre is rear mounted. There is provision for separate tonneau covers to the front and rear cockpits. A beautifully fabricated spare fuel tank mounting in the boat tail section of the car comes with it; particularly useful for those contemplating long overland trips. There is also a full set of de-mountable under guards to protect the vital areas from flying rocks etc. encountered in the 'stans. Whilst being set up for long distance overland work, the 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer also performs wonderfully as a family tourer for less adventurous outings. The current owner regularly taking up his wife and children for picnics and family jaunts. The 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer has a real presence on the road and a huge wow factor is often awarded from passers by. The Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer car is in mechanically superb order as evidenced by the plethora of paperwork. We simply gave up trying to photograph all the bills as they were so numerous and instead settled for photographing piles of bills sorted by the vendor. Suffice to say, the 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer is fully rebuilt including a photographic record of the engine rebuild. Two original manuals also come with the Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer. On the road, the Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer drives perfectly. The Rolls Royce engine is utterly silent, even from cold and starts readily off the retard lever when warm indicating excellent compressions to the bores. The steering is tight with no slop or play in it and the powerful engine wafts one down the road effortlessly. All in all, a really lovely 1930 Phantom II Boat Tail Tourer with a rakish sporting post war body needing absolutely nothing. A gallery of large high-resolution pictures may be viewed on our website. 1957 Bentley S1 Continental Fastback by H.J.Mulliner Chassis number: BC47CH Registrtation number: 789UXW Right-hand drive chassis number 'BC47CH' was ordered in April 1957 by John Irwin Esq of St James', London from Jack Barclay Ltd, Rolls-Royce and Bentley main dealers of Berkeley Square in London's exclusive Mayfair. The chassis was delivered to coachbuilders H J Mulliner on 24th June for the erection of a '2-door 4-light Continental Saloon to Drawing 7400', with specific instructions that 'all possible (be) done to reduce weight'. Factory records confirm that power steering was specified from new. Mulliner's records confirm delivery to Rolls-Royce on 13th November 1957, and the car was delivered to Jack Barclay and the guarantee issued to John Irwin on the following day. The Continental remained in its first owner's possession until March 1960 when it passed to Farmer A Dark Services of London SW4. In 1981 the Bentley was acquired for by Frank Cooke's celebrated 'Vintage Garage' collection in Massachusetts, USA. Its history in the intervening period is not known; however, it is known that the car was acquired as part settlement of a restoration account. Although of later manufacture than the typical car in Frank Cooke's collection, the Continental was a favourite, Frank driving it on the Nova Scotia Tour and attending the R-ROC Newport Meet in 2003, among other events and general use for pleasurable motoring. When Bonhams sold the Frank Cooke Collection in September 2006, the Continental (Lot 1000) was bought by a Mr Leonard Vinville of London and shipped back to the UK. In 2009 the Bentley passed into the ownership of respected French collector, Jean-Marc Krief. The previous owner purchased the car via Frank Dale & Stepsons in May 2010. While in the his possession, the Continental has been maintained with no expense spared by Gordon Dale Enterprises Ltd, as evidenced by bills on file, the most recent of which is dated February 2014. Since then the car has been looked after again with no expense spared by Marque Speicailist Nigel Sandell. Formerly registered '91 JGC' in the UK, this car enjoys the advantages of automatic transmission, the aforementioned power steering, and after-market air conditioning which is well & unobtrusively fitted. It is most attractively finished in Green livery, with the paint having been recently redone and is trimmed in maroon leather. There are veneer door cappings and dashboard detailing. Maroon carpets are fitted thoughout including to the boot where the original tool kit with a full set of tools nestles within its appointed box. The current owner has a small but exclusive collection of cars all in impeccable condition. During his tenure the car has seen regular but sparing use. The car is fully sercived, wanting for nothing & is ready for its next chapter in life. I have to stress how well sorted this car is & how beautifully it drives. We have four available right now so are good judges of the merits or the individual cars. A gallery of large high-resolution pictures may be viewed on our website.
