2017 Dodge Viper - today's auction tempter
V10 hero model
When Chrysler decided to make a statement with its Dodge brand, it didn't mess around. Launched in 1992, the Viper initially ran an 8.0lt Lamborghini-developed V10 powerplant in a comparitively lightweight 1500kg package.
The dramatic styling was guaranteed to draw a crowd.
Numerous variants of the Viper have been produced over the years, including the initial roadsters.
This 2017 version runs an 8.4lt engine claiming a whopping 495kW (660hp). Perhaps it's most compelling feature is it has been prepared as a tarmac rally car.
Collecting Cars has it up for auction.
