1948 Ford V8 - today's tempter
Restored classic
It may not seem so special now, but there was a time when having a V8 car of any sort suggested you were a person of means who was coming up in the world.
Ford admittedly made V8s a whole lot more accessible with cars like this F series (and earlier), which was on the market from 1941 to 1948.
The latter end of that period was a rough one for the company, a time when GM was comprehensively outselling it - particularly through the Chevrolet brand.
The engine of course is the legendary Flathead, which was produced in a few different capacities, ending up at 239ci (3.9lt). That was matched to a three-speed crash gearbox.
A number of F series were produced in Australia over time.
This car is from New Zealand and claims to have undergone a comprehensive restoration. It's with Rushmore Motors priced at NZ$68,000.
