V8 resto

Long-term readers may recall this car, which was featured as a reader resto back in 2018 and went on to win Resto of the Year. We put the latter down to the owner’s cheerful approach to the project and its spectacular looks.

The car had been given a comprehensive going over, with the shell checked for rust, repaired in places and then of course decked out in that spectacular Devil Yellow and black colour scheme.

When we last saw the car, owner Logan mentioned he had a 340 block for it and was hoping to install that one day, in place of the existing 318. It seems that job has now been done. The owner says it’s making a healthy 247kW and is matched to a three-speed Torqueflite auto.

There are good records on the resto.

Located near Glenrowan, Vic, it’s on the market for $135,000.
