Project car
Ford’s Australia’s adoption of the two-door coupe body was cause for celebration in the local market and starred in its publicity.
As we note in a feature on the series: "Two-door cars featured prominently in Ford’s astonishing 70,000 mile ‘Durability Run’. This perilous PR exercise, conducted shortly after the XP’s release, saw five new Falcons including two Hardtops belted (literally) around Ford’s You Yangs proving ground for eight-and-a-half days to forever banish doubts about the cars’ reliability."
The hardtop look is very much back in favour with the classic market.
This example is listed as having a generally good body that could do with a tidy up and is running a 250ci six with two-speed auto. It was clearly intended as a project, as it comes with an XR6 VCT engine, bell housing and T5 transmission.
Located in NSW, it’s on the market for $35,000.
