1966 Ford Galaxie 500

Ford's Galaxie name was introduced to 'connect' the brand with the contemptorary fascination with space exploration and by now was in its seventh year.

This example is from the third generation of the car and is arguably the pick of them. The stacked headlights is probably the most popular styling cue, though the car was overall beefed up in apearance.

A huge range of engiens was offered in this generation including sixes and, for the first time in this platform, the giant 428.

However this car is running the very popular 289 that powered numerous other models including the Mustang. That's backed up by a C4 three-speed auto.

There's only one pic with this ad, and the owner says the car has done just shy of 100,000 miles and has bench seats.

Located in Queenland, it's on the market for $35,000.
