The third generation Buick Special is a range of medium-sized vehicles built by General Motors between 1949 and 1958.

The third-gen Special greatly differed from its predecessor, and came complete with new motors, new aesthetics and new features.

Power was derived from a range of motors that included a 4.1lt inline eight-cylinder and a 4.3lt, 5.3lt and 6.0lt V8.

Customers could choose to have their Special in four-different body styles; a four-door sedan, five-door wagon, two-door hardtop and a two-door convertible.

This particular Special is a ’56 four-door sedan and comes equipped the 5.3lt V8 motor and an automatic transmission.

According to the seller, the Buick has had over $45,000 spent on it, has won awards and is a practical and usable 1950s classic.

The Buick Special is $44,500 and anyone interested in this American classic can view the full listing here.
