Shannons’ Sydney Spring Classic Auction results

Aussie muscle and an Italian thoroughbred steal the show

Shannons’ Sydney Spring Classic Auction took place last night and the appetite for classic automobiles and memorabilia was strong, with 56 of the 59 lots selling.

The most expensive item sold on the night was a simply gorgeous 1972 Ferrari 246 GT Dino, which ended up selling for an impressive $550,000 after some hotly contested bidding.

Another standout from the evening was the lovely looking 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT finished in factory Zircon Green.

Rather uniquely, this XW GT’s factory bonnet pins, side stripes and Super Roo decals were all factory deleted from new.  

The striking Super Roo was another popular item amongst bidders on the evening, and when the auctioneers gavel fell, the XW had sold for a hefty $121,000.

It wouldn’t have been a Shannons Classic auction without a classic Iron Lion being up for grabs, and the Sydney Spring event did not disappoint, with a stunning Warwick Yellow 1968 HK Monaro 327 ‘Bathurst’ selling for $155,000.
