Iron Lion’s aplenty at Lloyds

Great Holdens up for grabs

Lloyds Ford VS Holden auction, which takes place this Saturday, October 21, has got a simply awesome array of cars going to under the hammer.

However, while there are plenty of awesome cars going to the auction block, Holden fans really do have it good, with 12 excellent Iron Lions up for grabs.

Here are our favourite picks:

1973 LJ Holden Torana GTR

1973 LJ Holden Torana GTR

This ace looking LJ Torana in ‘Purr Pull’ really does look the business, and, judging from the photos, it appears to be in good condition. What’s more, according to Lloyds the Torana comes equipped with all the right gear including XUI extras such as a larger brake booster, XUI fuel tank, XUI triple Stromberg carburettors and a XUI M21 four-speed manual ‘box and limited slip diff.

Lloyds say that this lovely SLR is the most original example of the breed they’ve seen in years, and going off the photos, we’d have to agree. Lloyds add that the vehicle is a genuine SLR and is fitted with a factory 4.2lt V8 and four-speed manual. What’s more, the vehicle hasn’t been registered since 1989 and was restored was completely restored earlier on this year.

Last but certainly not least, this ace HJ Panel Van has been lovingly restyled to replicate the famous ‘Sandman’, complete with the iconic lettering over the tailgate. Lloyds say the vehicle has had a bare metal restoration and respray and has been fitted with a 5.0lt V8 donk and M21 four-speed manual transmission.
