Gosford and Pickles are having an awesome auction!

Uber-rare automotive royalty up for grabs

Gosford Classic Car Museum is known for its large and simply spectacular collection of rare and exotic automobiles.

Now, they’ve teamed up with Pickles Auctions auction for one very, very special evening.

You see, Gosford is selling off 70 cars from their classic car collection, making this auction the biggest of the year.

All the cars on offer are awesome, but we’re not going to list all 70, instead, here are our four favourite picks:

1971 Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III

1971 Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III

Possibly the most iconic car ever built down under, the Phase III GTHO is a true legend, and this Nugget Gold example (one of just 13 in this colour) looks as good today as it would have when it rolled off the production line. According to Gosford, the Phase III has only ever had two owners and has travelled a very low 66,626 miles from new.

1989 Porsche 959 Komfort

1989 Porsche 959 Komfort

Until the Ferrari F40 came onto the scene, the Porsche 959 was the quickest car in the world, with a top speed of 319km/h. Unlike the Ferrari however, the Porsche would propel occupants down the road at dizzying speeds while still providing comfort and luxury, while the Ferrari hurtled you towards the horizon in a cabin which could best be described as falling apart.  This particular 959 has done a super low 21,157 kilometres from new and it looks absolutely ace.

2016 Porsche 911 R

2016 Porsche 911 R

Yes, it’s another Porsche, but unlike the aforementioned 959, this one is both quicker and a hell-of-a-lot simpler, in philosophy at least. Out the back of the R lies a stonking 4.0lt flat-six motor which has been ripped straight out of the GT3 RS, and this prodigious powerplant is mated to a driver focussed six-speed manual transmission. The R was designed from the outset as a driving enthusiast’s device, unlike much of its brethren from Porsche’s GT department, which is focussed mostly on lap times.  This one is build number 699 of just 991 and to our eyes it looks simply gorgeous.

1968 Lamborghini Miura P400

1968 Lamborghini Miura P400

Probably one of the most beautiful cars ever made and definitely the best looking Lamborghini ever made, at least in our opinion, the Miura still has the ability to take your breath away. Styled by Bertone and bestowed with a mid-mounted 3.9lt V12, the Miura wrote the supercar formula that not only Lamborghini, but all other manufactures still use to this day. Could you imagine driving down to the shops in one of these in the ’60s?! What an utterly cool machine. This one’s travelled 34,416 miles from new and everyone in the office is thinking about pitching in to chuck a bid on.

This amazing auction is taking place on Saturday, the 28 of October between 6-9pm and you can check out all 70 lots right here.
