Dick Johnson Falcon tops 300k at Lloyds

Race cars don't always do well, but the fact it was a Falcon hardtop and was once owned by local legend Dick Johnson was enough to send prices soaring.

It may have been a humble family sedan, but cars of this quality and originality are clearly in big demand.

Record price for HG Kingswood

The premium lot at todays Lloyds classic car auction  an ex-Dick Johnson Falcon hardtop racer  pulled a very respectable $340,000, rounding off an event that generated plenty of interest.

Without question the big surprise was the $53,500 bid for a Holden HG Kingswood, with 186 motor and three-speed manual. It was an exceptional example, which was reflected in the fierce bidding.
