The 2013 Australian Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek this Father’s Day will have the largest ever gathering of classic Bathurst 1000 cars headlining the day.

The Australian Muscle Car Masters is the annual celebration of Australia's unique muscle car and motorsport heritage. On Sunday September 1, in a tribute to this heritage, sixty-five cars have entered for the hour-long half-time entertainment, the Bathurst Grid Spectacular.

The field includes the winning Holden Commodores from the 1986 and 1997 races, the Allan Grice/Graeme Bailey and Larry Perkins/Russell Ingall Commodores, plus 'Godzilla', the Nissan GTR that Mark Skaife and Jim Richards drove to victory in 1992.

The oldest car entered is a Studebaker Commander that was a frontrunner in the 1967 race, while the youngest raced in the 2012 event in Greg Murphy's hands (though it will be presented as it raced the year before in Jack Daniel's Racing colours). Other marques represented include Ford, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Nissan, BMW, Mazda and Toyota.

The famous cars will be joined on grid by some of the legends who drove them and by current owners, many of whom will be dressed in period team uniforms to show tribute to the sport’s heritage.

The midday show will see each car in original livery form up on the Brabham Straight grid as the Blacktown City Pipe Band marches ahead of the field. The massive grid will then set off on a series of demonstration laps after a grand marshal commands drivers to start their engines.

There is also a chance to get a close look at the legendary cars, with a dedicated static display area open before and after the spectacular.

Many of the Grid cars will feature in Sunday's 15-race program, which includes the fan-favourite heritage touring car events for Bathurst cars from the Group C and A eras; Formula 5000 open-wheelers; the Touring Car Masters Series, Historic Touring Cars (Group N) and production-based Historic Sports Cars (Group S).
