2020 Roush Mustangs - Toybox
American tuning house has big numbers heading this way
Mustang Motorsport in Melbourne tells us an example of the new Jack Roush Edition (JRE) Mustang will be ready to roll in the very near future and should coincide with the launch of the 2020 Roush RS3.
The latter gets some of the Roush Edition upgrades, and is expected to be priced at around R-Spec money but with 750hp on tap, a five-year warranty and ADR compliance.
The JRE is limited to 70 builds total, with 60 for USA and 10 internationally. Mustang Motorsport will have to share the 10 international builds amongst the other worldwide Roush Vehicle assemblers and the maker says it will be one of the most limited Special Edition Mustangs available.
Available in manual or automatic some of the standout features of the JRE are the exclusive Phase 3 supercharger upgrade increasing power to 775hp, engine, gearbox and diff coolers to manage heat generated by the extreme performance capability, active carbon-fibre rear wing, and Roush-calibrated Magneride suspension. The latter claims to retune the suspension for a more comfortable ride on the street, but when changed to sport or race mode will feature significant enhancements to cornering performance. To compliment this, ‘drag’ mode has its own specific suspension calibration.
Included is a slotted two-piece Brembo brake package, with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rears. That’s topped off with the unique forged wheels.
There is an optional competition pack that comes with lighter wheels, slicks and a toolbox with everything you need to change the JRE into a weekend track car.
