Description
1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX Sport Convertible
--- A Rare (in Australia) RHD, V8 manual LX version, No money to spend here just maintain and enjoy - in an exceptional original conditional, low mileage ready to be enjoyed. Recent full engineers report, to comply with South Australian registration requirements and an extensive mechanical refurbishment has been done.
This has been a well looked after club/hobby car being imported from Houston Texas in 1996 by the first owner, RHD by Crossover in Melbourne 1997. Current owner has obtained an unexpected project and as usual space is limited,
Major design occurred in 1987, those changes largely carried over to 1989, the 5.0-liter V8 put out 225 HP and 300 pd-ft of torque. The engines speed density computer system was replaced with a mass air flow system, making easier to receive aftermarket modifications.
The race crowd, picked up on the fact that the LX came equipped with the same performance as the GT, but weighed some 100 + lbs less. It came with the performance of the 5.0L GT engine, the handling of the GT suspension all wrapped up in the smooth styling of the LX.
The standard transmission is the 5-speed manual. The suspension system was that used for the GT. Gas-pressured front struts and rear Quadra-shock set-up to give a trim, performance ride. The quick 14.7:1 constant ratio power rack-and-pinion steering too. Traction-Lok axle and performance radials,10-hole cast aluminium wheels were also part of the package. A real wolf in sheeps clothing.
1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 LX Sport 2dr Convertible, 5.0L V8 302cid/225hp SFI High Output (same as GT) 5-Speed Manual Transmission, A/C, Cruise.
144,130 kms, sensible, offers considered after inspection. Murray Bridge S.Aust. PLEASE phone only old chap
