Ford Thunderbird 1955-78

No massive surprises here, with Ford Thunderbird values during the past five years moving at 4-5 per cent annually and only the 1960s convertibles making better than average gains. That doesn’t include the very rare Roadster which in the USA costs $50-60,000 and double that here. Owners with post-1966 cars who have been hoping for some time for value growth are doomed to ongoing disappointment. $30,000 is about top-of-market for a suicide-door Landau.

Similar story with the two-seat Baby Birds of the 1950s which once upon a time were matching prices with 1950s Corvettes before inexplicably stalling.   Roadster 1955-57 $57,770 [18]

H/Top 1958-60 $38,855 [7]

H/Top 1961-66 $27,780 [26]

Conv. 1961-66 $62,570 [11]

H/Top & Sedan 1967-73 $23,690 [10]

H/Top 1974-78 $16,000 [1]
