![CDATA[The TVR Vixen was built from 1967 until 1973, with a Ford engine in most of its configurations, it succeeded the MGB engined TVR Grantura 1800S. It is also the basis for the high-performance TVR Tuscan which was available in both V6 and V8 engine configurations. The Vixen Series I was introduced in 1967 as an evolution of the discontinued 1800S. Although it used the same chassis as the outgoing car, the significant change was the use of the 1599cc Ford Kent engine. The 1968 S2 was built with the longer (90') wheelbase chassis introduced on the Tuscan V8. The S3 continued to improve the car with a number of detail changes, the heat extraction vents on the bonnet were decorated with 'Aeroflow' grilles borrowed from the Ford Zodiac Mk. IV and the Ford four-cylinder engine was now in the same tune as in the Ford Capri. Finally, the S4 cars were an interim model that used the TVR M series chassis with the Vixen body shell. The 2500, built between 1971 and 1972, was designed to take advantage ofthe fact that the Triumph 2.5 litre inline-six engine had already been certified for US emissions standards. This lovely original example is presented in red with a black interior and has only had three owners from new. The car is fitted with the rare 2500 Triumph engine, most of these models were in fact exported to the US. This car had spent a long period of time in storage and when taken out, the body was removed and the chassis was then blasted and painted. The dashboard is in superb condition and the car still retains its original alloy wheels, seats and steering wheel. The car has new brakes, alternator, cooling fan, clutch hydraulics and hoses. A wonderful opportunity to purchase an original example of this classic British sports car. ]]

This outstanding TVR Chimaera 500 has only covered 26360 miles from new and was recently driven 300 faultless miles from Dover to Yorkshire. The car was supplied new by Hawthorns in Farnham, Surrey and comes with an impressive service containing twelve service stamps. Supply dealer Hawthorns serviced the TVR at 975 and 3470 miles and Racetech TVR Limited maintained the car at 14338, 16218, 17042 and 18171. TVR agents Wilton-Morgan serviced at 19566, 20698 and 21017 before Neil Garner Performance serviced at 21755 and 22343. The most recent service was in February 2108 by Taylor TVR at 24918 miles. Accompanying the service history is some interesting previous ownership correspondence that tells us the second owner of the car bought it with 8000 miles at one year old used for several trips to Le Mans during his ownership of nine years. The TVR comes with an impressive file of history detailing careful maintenance and invoices for many upgrades. Upgrades include installation, setting up and mapping aCanems Rover V8 engine management kit and the battery at this point was re-located in the boot. Racetech TVR who maintained the car for a few years supplied and fitted brand new Wilmot 4 pot calipers, discs, pads and uprated braided hoses fitted. They also supplied and fitted a brand new aluminium radiator, new silicon hoses and upgraded ignition leads. TVR 258 has come to us in outstanding condition and earlier in the year had 2000 spent on servicing, maintenance and a new set of tyres. The car drives perfectly with outstanding performance as expected being such a low mileage, well maintained car. The car presents incredibly well with stunning Nautica Blue Pearl paintwork that is believed to be original. The interior is stunning with beautiful well-kept leather and the detail underneath the car is impressive having had various zinc powder coating to the suspension and painted outriggers and front wishbones. The chassis is superb having had regular maintenance, the hood excellent, the boot area isexceptionally smart, and the engine bay very well presented. This is a truly outstanding example that is ready to use and comes with handbook and spare keys. Low mileage examples are becoming increasingly sought after and this really is a top class car that has been maintained to the highest of standards and has all of the recommended Chimaera upgrades. ![CDATA[The TVR Tuscan was a front engine, rear wheel drive sports car built from 1967 to 1971 in the company's Blackpool factory. It was the second car developed by TVR during the Martin Lilley era of the automotive firm. The car was made available in both a V8 and a V6 format, with a total of 174 cars built between the two available engine formats. In mid 1969, to provide a car at an intermediate level of performance, TVR released the Tuscan V6. Equipped with a 2994 cc Ford Essex V6 engine, which came from Ford's British division (also used in the Ford Zodiac Mk. IV and Ford Capri). The brakes were changed from the V8 model, as only the front used discs, and the rear had drum brakes. The V6 model was also narrower, using the same bodyshell and chassis as the four-cylinder Vixens. It did, however, receive the same Salisbury differential as the Tuscan V8. Most of the cars produced were righthand drive, for the home market. This example was first delivered in August 1971 with a V6 engine and wasrighthand drive. The original delivery note and its original green log book can be found in the cars history file. In 1973 the car was converted to factory Tuscan V8 specification by Brian Murphy who was the production manager at TVR at that time, he oversaw the installation of a 220bhp 289 Ford 4.7 litre which was then upgraded in 1975, when a full race 4.7 litre GT40 engine was fitted and the car was then further modified to marque sportscar specification (road legal class 8). The car was then regularly campaigned in the mid 1970s with many class wins and two class records. In the late 1970s its final upgrade took place with the installation of Falconer and Dunn full race Formula 5000 Boss 302 engine, the car was then rebuilt to lightweight modified sportscar specification with lightweight factory shell and bonnet. The culmination of the various upgrades resulted in the car winning the BARC National Speed Hill Climb Championship outright in 1982. In 2000 a three year project began with a totalnut and bolt conversion back to road specification, using a much stronger 1972 Mike Bigland designed chassis shell and with a 3.5 litre half race Rover V8 engine was installed, which is still in it today. It has a five speed gearbox, Holley carburettors and a powerlock differential and the car was also converted from right to lefthand drive. This extremely interesting TVR comes with a substantial history file containing an abundance of paperwork and photographs charting its history from new and also on file is the complete history in writing. The interior is trimmed in black leather with Wilton carpets and although the wheels have been changed, the originals will come with the car. A wonderful opportunity to own a piece of British Motorsport history which can be driven on the road.]]
