![CDATA[The all new, post war Rover appeared during the autumn of 1949 and became one of the most readily recognised and fondly remembered cars of the era, the stately P4 with its column gearshift and 'gentlemen's club' interior would prove an immense success for the Solihull firm, remaining in production until 1964. The pinnacle of the range, offered by Rover, was the 'R' and 'S' models that boasted the most power and easily topped the magic 100mph. Introduced in 1956, the P4 105R and P4 105S had a high compression cylinder head and twin SU carburettors that boosted power to a very respectable 108bhp. The 'R' and 'S' designations referred to their transmissions, the 105R featured a Roverdrive automatic transmission while the 105S had a four-speed manual with overdrive. Both were luxuriously equipped and, are in high demand amongst marque fans. This Rover P4 105R was first registered in south west London during 1958 and was purchased by the current P4 enthusiast/owner in the spring of 2016 with aview of carrying out sympathetic aesthetic improvements/restoration. Today, this Rover 105R presents very well; its coachwork, finished in Sage Green, is all in excellent order and is complimented by the, also excellent, chromework. The interior boasts lovely green leather and African walnut woodwork, both having been lightly restored that results in an office that certainly invites you in. A set of Quick Fit (the highly respected specialists in classic car passenger restraints) seat belts compliment the leather whilst, for the modern day user, a satellite navigation connection is fitted. Other works have included a new torque converter, battery, four radial tyres, replacement steering wheel and four new door rubbers. A large history file accompanies this Rover and includes all the supporting invoices, a Rover P4 Guild archivist record of owners (back to 1983), a letter from Rover to potential P4 customers and a UK V5 registration document. Rover motor cars of this period are considered to be builtto a quality akin to other quality marques such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Take a look at this fine and, we believe, gorgeous example, and we think you may agree.]]

This Rover P4 100 was first registered on 1st July 1961 (A Reg) in very good overall condition finished in Royal Blue with Grey Leather, the interior was, we are advised re-trimmed in the 1990's. 68,000 miles have been recorded, which we believe to be correct, but given the cars age we cannot warrant. The most recent keeper has made some improvements to the car specifically fitting electronic ignition to improve starting reliability. The more powerful 100 was announced on 24 October 1959. Its new but similar 2.6 Litre straight-6 engine seven bearing crankshaft engine was a short-stroke version of the P5 3-Litre unit. The 100 could it was claimed by Rover reach 100 mph. The interior was luxurious, with wood and leather accents on traditional English car elements. A bench front seat or individual front seats could be ordered, our example having the bench seat. A heater was a standard fitting. The 100 was fitted with servo-assisted Girling Disc Brakes at the front. Overdrive, on top gear only, wasastandard fitting. Testing the 100 in 1960, The Motor magazine recorded a top speed of 92.1 miles per hour acceleration from 0-60 miles in 17.6 seconds and a fuel consumption of 23.9 miles per The test car cost £1538 including taxes. In our opinion a good genuine example which is very reasonably priced
