![CDATA[Rolls-Royce Motors formed Mulliner Park Ward by the 1961 merger of two Rolls-Royce subsidiaries: Park Ward of Willesden, London, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since 1939 and H. J. Mulliner & Co. of Chiswick, a Rolls-Royce subsidiary since 1959. Mulliner Park Ward continues to operate as the vehicle customisation division of Bentley Motors Limited, the successor of Rolls-Royce Motors. The Corniche was a development of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow with the two door variants of that model marketed as the Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward two-door fixedhead coupé which was first seen in 1966 followed by the convertible version in 1967. The very handsome coachwork design was by John Polwhele Blatchley. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow Coupé, the Corniche name was applied from 1971 to all two-door coupés and convertibles. This Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Convertible was first ordered from H.A. Fox 20th January 1967 byMrT.M.Rattigan and was originally going to be painted in sand with red leather and red hood. In July 1967 the order was cancelled and the car was re-allocated for H.A. Fox own stock. At the end of 1967 the convertible was sold to Michael Caine Productions Ltd and the order changed to being painted in black with grey roof and tan leather upholstery, also specified was full air conditioning, hazard warning device, additional Grand Vitesse horns and BlueSpot self-seeker radio. The car was delivered to Michael Caine, who had become a well-known actor following the success of films including Zulu, Alfie and playing Harry Palmer in The Ipcress File, Funeral in Berlin and Billion Dollar Brain, in Grosvenor Square, London in May 1968. This very original Shadow Convertible has been in long term storage and hardly used with the last MoT test certificate dating back from 2013 and the mileage reading 59,201. The oldest MoT test certificate on record is from 2005 with an odometer reading of 48,691. Thisuntouchedexample, except for the leather interior being re-connolized in light blue, appears to be in sound condition and is ready for cosmetic restoration and the mechanicals to be gone through. With only 505 early Mulliner Park Ward convertibles built this a rare opportunity to purchase a good project with good early providence. The car is supplied with a V5C registration document, copies of the original order forms and chassis cards supplied by the RREC and the MoT history. ]]

![CDATA[When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years and had the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The new models were technically striking in three ways. A monocoque chassis was used; all wheels were sprung independently and four wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping power of the sort that had come to be expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8 engine that had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed. This very well presented Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I is offered in cream with a beige Everflex and magnolia leather interior. Originally delivered to Hadley Green Garage on 3rd September 1976 and sold to Vaughn Associates in London, we are informed the second owner was the pianist and entertainer Russ Conway, to whom several invoices were made out to in 1997 which are included in the history file. Since his ownership there hasbeen a continual record of services shown with countless invoices for maintenance and remedial work. Also supplied with the car is a collection of old MoT test certificates and a valid MoT until January 2018, spare keys, tool kit and over mats. A lovely example of the iconic Silver Shadow sensibly priced for a new owner.]]

![CDATA[When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in October 1965, the development departments were showing the result of work carried out over a period of some ten years. In February 1977, the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II was introduced. The most notable changes mechanically were to the rack and pinion steering and modifications to the front suspension which improved handling markedly. This example is presented in Le Mans metallic blue with the desirable cream Connolly leather interior and blue piping. This lovely British classic was stored for just under 20 years until the present owner purchased it in 2007 and carried out a light restoration andrecommissioning. This work included a respray of the car from gold to its present colour of Le Mans Blue and changing the interior from the rather unpopular velour to the soft luxurious Connolly leather, which still exudes that element of class and has the aroma of well stocked library of leather bound books! The vendor has informed us that on 12th August 1980 at 8,137 miles the speedometer was changed, thus todays reading is correct but by adding the 1980 mileage, this will provide one with the accurate mileage for the car. The mileage is documented in the service record and schedules book which has stamps from 1979 to when the car was placed into storage in September 1988. This is a striking example still providing a wonderfully luxurious ride.]]
