This exceptional driving manual Jaguar MKII 3.8 has been with its last owner for 26 years in Dunfermline, Scotland. XMD 73A started life in South Africa and was imported to the UK in 1991, spending one year with a lady owner in Maidenhead prior to heading North to Scotland. With just two owners in 27 years, the MKII has been cherished and well-maintained covering relatively low annual mileage. This MKII is an older restoration and a car that started life as a 3.4. The engine was sent to VSE, famous Jaguar engine builders in Wales back in the early 1990's just 4000 miles ago and was offered a fully rebuilt 3.8 exchange engine unit. The owner opted for the bigger, more desirable engine and 4000 miles since build it is quite simply outstanding offering top class performance, excellent oil pressure, it maintains correct temperature and sounds fabulous. Equally as impressive is the Moss gearbox with smooth overdrive and first gear is notably quiet which can be rare with this type of early MKII gearbox. The axle is quiet, brakes are very good and the steering lovely with the benefit of power assisted steering. This is a very strong driving car and it is likely to be a better driver than some of the MKII's at double the price. XMD 73A is now an older restoration and whilst it retains lovely bright paintwork and chrome, there are now some minor bodywork blemishes showing in areas. This would make an ideal car for regular use and is most certainly an excellent opportunity to own a MKII 3.8 at an entry level that doesn't require major work. It can be used and enjoyed exactly as it is or in the future, it can be treated to bodywork and a re-paint if looking for a top class car. The bumpers are in smart, the wire wheels excellent and the engine bay and boot area present nicely and show the car was properly painted as a bare shell over 20 years ago. The interior is gorgeous with lovely bright seats, smart carpets, door cards and headlining as is only let down by some flaking lacquer to the dash top anddoor capping's. This is a great driving MKII that can be improved over time and offers excellent value. Price: 29,995

This is one of the most unique Jaguar MKII's we have ever come across. This car has had a reported 60,000 spent on a major restoration and modifications enabling the car to be the ideal every day use MKII Jaguar. The beginning of the process was to find a suitable rust free car and the long term owner sourced a right hand drive New Zealand car that is in fact a very early 1959 manufactured car. The Jaguar, a 3.8 automatic was number 1500 off the production line and therefore a first year production car and this is confirmed with a Heritage trust letter. In 2002, now in the UK the rebuild began with a full strip down to bare metal .The body was found to be in excellent order and was prepared as necessary for a top class re-paint. The restoration was carried out by Grace Jaguar and James Watt Automotive in Staffordshire. James Watt spent almost 400 hours on the car prior it going to Hampton Coachtrimming for a full re-trim. Seats were re-trimmed in top quality leather and the headlining and sunvisorstrimmed in suede. A significant modification and part of the restoration was removing the running gear and replacing it with a 2.8 Nissan diesel engine and automatic gearbox enabling exceptional fuel economy and modern performance. Many years were spent restoring this fascinating car and since completion it has only covered 1400 miles. The car arrived with us having only covered 750 miles, most of this recently after the rebuild. Having been in dry storage with very little use over the past few years, a program of work totalling in the region of 4000 has been carried out and 650 miles of road testing has been covered. Work includes a full service, re-conditioned turbo, new subframe mountings, re-conditioned fuel tank, new glow plugs and control relay, new steering shaft UJ and the propshaft has been balanced. The car today presents superbly with its absolutely stunning straight bodyshell free from corrosion issues with beautiful top class metallic paintwork and gleaming chrome finishing the car offperfectly. Wire wheels are also excellent, the upholstery as expected with the low mileage since completion is beautiful and boasts impressive, expensively finished woodwork. On the road the Jaguar offers a totally different driving experience. The 2.8 modern engine is in excellent order, is responsive and offers impressive performance. The automatic gearbox changes smoothly and the handling and braking are top quality with upgraded brakes and power assisted steering. The cost of build is considerably more than the price offered thus offering an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a heavily modified MKII Jaguar that is capable of daily use. Price: 49,995

This Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 was despatched when new to Australia in May 1960 where it was kept until the end of 2017. The Jaguar Heritage Certificate accompanying this superb example confirms that it retains its original interior and exterior colours of Mist Grey and Red. In 1995 it was fitted with a full synchromesh manual and overdrive gearbox. We are advised that the car has been sparingly used and for all intents and purposes in store until its preparation for repatriation to these shores. Works carried out prior to re-import included: full refurbishment of the fuel system, including carburettors, renewal of the brakes and some re-chroming at a documented cost of Australian $14,000 (8,500). The Mark 2 was a fast and capable saloon in line with Sir William Lyons' 1950s advertising slogan: Grace . . . Space . . . Pace. The 3,781 cc Jaguar XK engine is similar to the unit used in the 3.8 E-Type Jaguar having the same block, crank, connecting rods and pistons but different inlet manifold andcarburettors. The 3.4 Litre and 3.8 Litre cars were both fitted with twin SU HD6 carburettors. The 3.8 litre with the 220 bhp engine was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 125 mph, which was in its day most impressive, hence its status as the Bank Robbers favourite get-away car. It followed that the Police acquired the Mark 2 3.8 to give chase and patrol our motorways as the 70 mph speed limit only arrived in 1965. Our example pulls well with good oil pressure, no knocking noises or squeaks. In our opinion Mist Grey with Red is one of the very best colour combinations this excellent example also has the benefit of a new interior and chrome wire wheels; it is a thing of beauty. Jaguar MK2 3.4 Automatic This UK Supplied car was first registered on1/2/1966 by the Jaguar Main Dealer SCOTT BROS (Colchester) Ltd to a Miss A Impey who lived in Colchester. Since then it has only had 4 Owners. The recorded mileage is 12,000mls which we believe to be 112000mls, which is very low for a car that is 46 years old. The car has undergone an Extensive Rebuild, both Bodily and Mechanically and there are photographs that were taken during the rebuild to show the Bare Metal Respray (car totally stripped with all windows removed etc) and mechanical overhaul. The rebuild we belive was carried out in the early 2000s and old MOTs record the mileage at 6,000mls in July 2002, so the car has only travelled another 6,000mls in the last 10 years. The last Owner took this lovely example on a Rally to the South of France and Monaco. The Car is Finished in Metallic SILVER SAND and been sympathetically Retrimmed In TAN LEATHER which was its Original Colour. All of the interior Wood Work has beenstripped and Re Laquared and looks like the day it left the factory. The car comes with some old MOTs, some Mechanical bills, Hand Book and Original Owners Service Policy fully Stamped by the supplying dealer, and Photographs of the Rebuild. 29,999
