We are delighted to offer this stunning, genuine Fiat Abarth onto the market. This car was built in April 1966 and letters from Fiat Turin and the Automobile Club D'Italia confirm the build date and chassis number of this car. On completion of build the Fiat went to Abarth in Turin and in 1967 was registered and sold new in Italy. Carlo Abarth' tuning provided more power, a top speed of around 80mph and ultimately these highly tuned cars were successfully raced against much more powerful rivals. Our genuine example still retains its original chassis plate and stamped numbers on the inner shell arch. We have records to confirm the Fiat bodyshell was rebuilt in Italy in 1997/1998 and in July 1999 the car was imported into the UK. The Abarth was brought into the UK by Chelsea based Fiat specialists and sold to its first UK owner in September 1999. Invoices for thousands of pounds worth of work with specialists Lanzante Ltd are with the history dating between 2000 and 2002. In 2003 the Abarth sold toits second owner in the UK who kept the car for eleven years. Notable expenditure during the early part of his ownership was for a brand new, fully rebuilt engine uprated to 695cc with Middle Barton Garage in Oxfordshire. Invoices are present confirming new con rod bearings, forged pistons, new cam, camshaft followers, re-faced cylinder head, refaced valves, valve guides, recut valve seats, refaced barrels, various machining, alloy oil pan and uprated clutch assembly. Mid Barton Garage also supplied new front and rear shock absorbers, new twin pipe exhaust, king pin repair kit, carb rebuild kit and various ignition items and external trims to include new sunroof and frame. The Fiat has come to us absolutely on the button and in beautifully detailed condition. The Abarth looks fabulous with original 12 inch alloys below the Group 2 wheel arches, the interior is first class with gorgeous bucket seats, Jaeger dials, Mid Barton supplied steering wheel and the various Abarth badging. Paintwork is topclass, the bodywork excellent with superb panel gaps and on the road OGC 247D is super-fast with its strong, fit rebuilt 595 engine. The gearbox is excellent, handling and braking first class, the car sounds terrific and is ready for its next owner to have some serious fun. This is a wonderful piece of kit, a beautifully presented and detailed car that is absolutely on the button, properly prepared and set up to offer impressive performance. Price: 34,995

Stunningly finished in purple and white and has only covered 3950 miles since the conversion and restoration whilst travelling around Italy visiting various shows, photo sessions and doing advertising work. It also won many awards on its travels for the superb condition and artistic unique paintwork. It was recently imported from Italy and the UK taxes are paid. It has a UK MoT and V5 and the new registration for the UK is PJU 869K.We are led to believe that the same owner had the car from new, a total of 44 years. He was il Signor Cocullo who resided in LAquila, Italy. We are also informed that he spent several years transforming his 1972 Fiat 500L into the 695 SS Abarth version that you see today. We estimate that the conversion to its present standard with its fabulous paintwork would cost in excess of 30k. You will notice from the images that many of the parts used are genuine Abarth 695 parts. The rear seats of the car have been removed to accommodate the fabulous stereo system which is ablaupunkt GTA480 stereo unit with infinity 10 subs with real gold wiring creating an astonishing sound. The vehicle has a very special paint finish, many genuine Abarth parts including original Abarth 13 x5 alloy wheels and a special transparent sunshine roof. The many other features include: special hand made bumpers, led lighting, raised rear engine lid, sports exhaust system, outside bonnet catches, 695 and Abarth badges, door mirrors, abarth door handles/switches/steering wheel, plus UK and Euro lights. The folder includes: HPi certificate, current MoT, copy of Italian title and paperwork, photo albums and 94 images of the car from its original state to the standard it is today. The images include a photo of the 70 year old owner who converted and carried out the work. Also included is a CD with further images and a document holder. We have never seen a closer evocation to the marque or a vehicle with such a detailed restoration. It is thrilling to drive and an absolute headturner. Offered at afraction of its cost

Price: 24,995; Fiat Abarth 850 TC Nurburgring Specification 1963. This stunning little car started life as a 600d with the obligatory suicide doors and later in its life being in incredible corrosion free condition was professionally rebuilt to replicate an Abarth 850 TC using many correct and difficult to find original Abarth parts including cylinder block, exhaust, large split sump, twin choke carburettor and large dynamo pulley. The engine was rebuilt to 850 TC Nurburgring Specification by marque specialists Carallo in Turin. The watercooled engine is cooled by a radiator to the front. The braking system has front disc brakes and the suspension has Abarth specification springs and dampers, Campagnolo 5 1/2 inch magnesium wheels are fitted. The interior is beautifully finished in red and white leather, with Abarth instruments and Nardi steering wheel with Abarth horn push. The car has all the correct Abarth badging and the iconic propped open engine lid. It would be very difficult to find a 1963Fiat in this condition and hugely expensive to build to this specification. Great fun to drive Incredible Condition.

  • Auction: 17th/18th Jan 2019 - RM Sotheby's - Arizona Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Arizona event, 17 - 18 January 2019. Estimate:$80,000 - $100,000 Celebrated Double-Bubble Zagato coachworkUpgraded 850-series 903-cc engineSympathetically restoredIdeal entrant for vintage driving events The Abarth Zagato coupe was unveiled in 1956, and it did not take long for it to start making news, as it took a 2nd in class at the Mille Miglia. The following year, a total of five cars finished the Mille Miglia, with Alfonso Thiele driving one to a 1st place finish in the 750-cc class. Many a racer felt the sting of being passed and finishing behind a car emblazoned with the Abarth scorpion. This Fiat-Abarth 750 GT with double-bubble coachwork by Zagato is a wonderful example. It is in excellent condition throughout, benefitting from a sympathetic restoration and expert care. This Abarth, chassis no. 558327, was built in road-going trim and is equipped with bumperettes front and rear, as well as a smattering of additional trim to thinlydisguise its purposeful, race-bred roots. The bright red paintwork shows in fine order throughout, having mellowed nicely since its restoration. Other features include covered headlamps, correct wheels with chrome hubcaps, and badges that proudly proclaim Abarths past success in Gran Turismo racing. The signature Italian pushbutton handles open the featherweight door to reveal a surprisingly spacious interior. Taller drivers will appreciate Zagatos signature roofline as well as the rear-engine layout that affords plenty of leg room. The seats are trimmed in biscuit tan leather with black piping, along with black carpeting and tan panels. The interior was refreshed in approximately 2004 and remains in excellent condition today, the seats having taken on a pleasant character that suits the car well. For road-rally duty, a roll bar has been integrated behind the seats. The dash features a full complement of original Jaeger gauges. A refinished wood-rimmed, period Nardi steering wheel rounds out theinterior. This car is powered by a later 903-cc 850-series engine, but it retains many important and correct Abarth components such as twin 34-mm exhausts and the high-capacity finned-alloy sump. Fiat were masters of efficient packaging, and while the tiny engine bay is tight, all major components are surprisingly easy to access for service and the engine on this example is very well presented with correct fittings and hardware. The lively little engine runs strong and this car has proven itself on events such as the California Mille in 2010. It would undoubtedly be a welcome entrant for future driving events. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/az19.
