1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII BJ8. Old English White with Black Ambla upholstery and a black hood. This Healey BJ8 Phase, which means, amongst other things, that it was the best-selling version blessed with the high output 150bhp version of the 3,000cc straight six engine and handy this - power-assisted bakes. The Heritage Certificate for the car also notes that this one came with wire wheels, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen and a heater. This lovely Healey returned to this country in 1995 and was converted to right-hand-drive shortly afterwards. The previous owner bought the car in 2006 and has had it repainted in Old English White. The car is still very original and benefits from electronic ignition and a side-exit exhaust system. The car performed very well on the test drive with a strong engine, smooth gearbox and working overdrive. This big Healey is a sound example of a real classic sports car. It has only covered around 4,000 miles in the last thirteen years. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted. * Free Delivery in the UK mainland. *

![CDATA[The Austin-Healey 3000 was built from 1959 to 1967 and is the best known of the 'big' Healey models. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at the BMC Abingdon works. The 3000 was a successful car which won its class in many European rallies during its heyday and also ran at Le Mans during that period; as such it's still used in competition by enthusiasts today. Introduced in March 1961, the 3000 Mk. II came with triple SU carburettors and an improved camshaft; designated the BT7 Mk. II (2+2 seat version) and BN7 Mk. II (two-seat version). However, upon the introduction of the BJ7 model in January 1962, the number of carburettors was reduced to two, mainly due to the problems experienced with balancing three carburettors. This fabulous original righthand drive, UK supplied Austin-Healey 3000 Mk. II is presented in the distinctive colour combination of black over ivory with a red interior. It has overdrive in third and fourth gears, a wood-rim steeringwheel and has had just six previous owners from new which is charted in the history file. When reviewing the history file it is apparent that a considerable amount of money has been spent ensuring the car always remained in very good condition, the file includes a photographic record/history of the works undertaken, including invoices. The engine was rebuilt in 1970, 1991 and more recently in 2010 in conjunction with a complete gearbox rebuild. When the engine was rebuilt its power output was uprated with DWR camshaft and triple SU carburettors. The cylinder head was converted to run on unleaded fuel and some other upgrades were carried out including an electric cooling fan, alternator and stainless steel exhaust, thus resulting in a superb engine that exhibits good oil pressure and coolant temperature. The chassis and body were treated to a professional rebuild by a Healey specialist in the late 1990s. The bodywork and chrome are in good condition and the wire wheels are original as is the factoryhard top. This is a wonderful example of this iconic British sportscar which is both practical and fun to drive and is also presented with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.]]

![CDATA[The 'Big' Healey enjoyed steady development, with the early four-cylinder cars giving way to the 100 Six in 1956, which in turn was replaced by the first of the 3000s in 1959. The new car featured an enlarged 2912cc version of Austin's six cylinder engine with twin SU carburettors and Girling front disc brakes, offering excellent performance resulting in the model becoming a great success. The 3000 was only referred to as the Mk. I once the Mk. II model was introduced in 1961. Other changes were minor compared to those between the original 100 and the 100-6. The wheelbase and body were unchanged as were the body-styles, a 2+2 or BT7 and a two seater BN7. Bought new by a newly qualified dental surgeon in Northern Canada as a reward for qualifying, he kept the car for almost 40 years before selling it in 1999 to its second owner, a British expat, who in 2002 started a full ground up restoration. Due to an illness the restoration was delayed several times but finally completed in 2009. Thework included a full bare metal rotisserie restoration with no area being neglected. The chassis was checked for correctness, sandblasted and restored to as new condition in the body colour. The engine was fully stripped and rebuilt, as was the gearbox. A new wiring loom was fitted and the interior also received a total retrim, including a ribbed tonneau cover and the car was fully resprayed. This lefthand drive car was repatriated to the UK in 2017 by its third and current owner and presents stunningly in red with red and black interior. The car starts on the button and drives superbly with no rattles or squeaks, testament to the quality of the restoration. A matching numbers example, this lovely car comes supplied with V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until May 2019 and a comprehensive history file including receipts from the rebuild, Heritage Certificate and photographic record of the restoration.]]
