Rare local build

Ford’s legendary Cortina series has an extraordinary competition history, at least for the MkI and MkII variants.

With legends such as Lotus getting involved, the company produced some very desirable cars.

While the MKII doesn’t carry quite the same collector cache as the MkI, it does have a lot to offer and tends to be stronger value for money.

This example is listed as a locally-assembled GTL, which makes it a relatively rare car. As such you would expect it to have the GT go-fast gear including dual-through Weber carburetor, extractors, close-ratio transmission and bigger brakes.

The seller mentions the Kent engine has undergone some modification.

Located at Lake Macquarie, NSW, it’s on the market at $50,000.
