Unused for many years

Ford XY GT-HO Phase III build number 183 has been 'found' and is now on the market. The car was listed in the recently-published register for these cars - all 300 of them - as 'missing in action'.

The XY was originally sold in South Australia, August 1971, and was ordered as a no-frills version, in Vermillion Fire.

One former owner, Kelvin Randall, tells stories of the Ford having lived a colourful life, including drag-racing a small-block Chev-powered Torana XU-1 (the XY won), getting chased by the cops (it got away) and an impromptu speed trial through the Adelaide Hills!

Now looking very complete, it apparently hasn't been started for some years.

It's on the market with Grays.
