1. Got you covered

Our good friend Dave Hosking at Australian Car Covers has been making these forever. So if you want to protect your pride and joy when it’s tucked up in the shed, like this BMW, get onto Dave at Australian Car Covers for a handmade, tailored, car cover. He makes them to suit all makes and models. Packed in a vinyl carry bag all covers have a sewn in elastic tensioner for a snug fit. There are seven colour combos and badging, monikers, pinstriping or piping availble.

And they are machine washable. So cover your toy with the care it deserves A cover similar to the one shown is $620 plus postage.

2. Roller around the shed

Toiling away for hours in the shed working on your car is always special. But it doesn’t have to be back-breaking. Among its endless range of products Hare & Forbes sells these very handy pneumatic roller seats. Instead of being stooped over the work bench, why not grab a seat and be comfortable and kind to your back. The pneumatic roller seat has a 300mm round pad and an adjustable seat height from 380 to 500mm. Its five swivel wheels gives you 360-degree rotation and it comes with a moulded tool tray under the seat. Bonus! It’ll set you back just $40 which is cheaper than a visit to the physio.

3. Light the way

While the Holden marque has keeled over, it will never be forgotten and for fans of the Iron Lion Bradford Exchange has just the thing to keep you illuminated. It’s a Holden Heritage table lamp. The lampshade is festooned with vintage Holden graphics and the polished timber base features a sculptured classic Holden badge and an FJ model sedan. This is certainly one to go straight to the pool room and it serves as a reminder of the heady days of Holden and their contribution to Australian society. Measuring 47cm high and 28cm in diameter you can secure yours for $299.95.

4. Falcon RPO83

This month Classic Carlectables is celebrating the XA Ford Falcon RPO83 resplendent in Lime Glaze. We know the RPO83 (an option code) was available on the XA GT and included many components from the axed Phase IV GT-HO. The RPO83 is one of the most sought Falcons, now costing a fortune. A limited run of 700 models has been produced. Like all their models the die-cast 1:18 RPO83 is replicated in detail and should be a worthy addition to any muscle car collection. Price TBA

5. Windows to your engine

Got a set of gauges that need a resto, replacement or recalibrating? The team at Lionel Otto Instruments are the craftsmen of quality gauges, instruments, clusters and panels, returning them to their exquisite best like the lovingly restored XK140 Jag gauges pictured. And it’s not just classics they cater for. The crew has been returning instruments to their former glory since the 1960s and their belief is that each gauge tells a story. So, if you want to know how well your cylinders are pumping, get a free quote for a restoration.

6. Sparky

Performance Ignition Services started in the 1960s and is Australia’s longest established manufacturer & repairer of automotive distributors and ignition components. They are also the gurus on the Scorcher range of ignition products like the in-house developed 0.6ohm electronic high energy coil. These oil-filled coils have been tested to 15,000rpm and deliver some serious spark. The high energy coil will suit a wide range of makes and models and will fit most canister style brackets. Yours for $95.00
