Top budget picks at Shannons
Classic cars, going cheap
Shannons’ Melbourne Summer Classic auction featuring the Ian Cummins Collection, which takes place on Monday, the 27 of November, has got some simply amazing cars up for grabs.
And, while there quite a few cars that will most certainly command a high price tag, there are a few cars at this auction which have the potential to be a bit of a bargain.
Here are our favourite budget picks:
According to Shannons, this classic Karmann Ghia has had the same owner since the late ‘70s and is a well-loved, regularly serviced example of the German Classic. Shannon adds that this red Ghia has had a couple of choice upgrades made to it including the addition of a sunroof, triple-spoke steering wheel, wider wheels and tyres and a kill switch. Shannons reckon this iconic Germanic coupe will sell for $14,000-$18,000. |
This ace looking Rebel, finished in brown with a contrasting cream interior, is, according to Shannons, a two owner vehicle from new and is mechanically well-maintained. This Rambler also has the highly desirable right-hand drive configuration and was built in the final year of Rebel production in Australia. Shannons say the vehicle is a genuine survivor level car and is presents in completely unmolested condition. Shannons have put an estimate of $8000-$12,000 on the Rambler. |
Last but certainly not least is this lovely Jag XJ-R sporting a very unique Turquoise paint scheme and contrasting cream interior. According to Shannons, this Jag’ has been regularly serviced and is showing a mere 81,000 kilometres on the odometer from new. Shannons add that the supercharged Big Cat has a factory sunroof and six-stacker CD player as well as all its original books. Shannons believe the Jaguar will sell for $15,000-$20,000. |
