Shannons introduces online auction bidding
Shannons will be introducing online bidding for its Melbourne Autumn Classic Auction taking place at its Cheltenham premises on Monday, May 5.
Enthusiasts interested in bidding online will need to pre-register at least 24 hours prior to the auction, which consists of a total of 74 lots - 44 vehicles and 30 automobilia items.
Traditional floor, absentee and telephone bidding will continue to be available, with online bidding to become a regular feature at Shannons auctions.

Some of the highlights of the 2014 Shannons Melbourne Autumn Classic Auction on Monday, May 5 include:
Three locally-built Ford Fairlanes from the '60s and '70s - two with no reserve, plus a 1951 Ford Twin Spinner customised sedan ($22,000 - $26,000), a 1965 Galaxie ex-ambulance van ($10,000 - $15,000), a 1955 Ford Victoria 'Modified' coupe ($36,000 - $42,000) and a 1930 'Improved' Model A tourer expected to reach between $22,000 - $28,000.
US muscle cars include an immaculate 1966 Mustang GT Convertbile RHD ($45,000 - $55,000), a 1972 Chevelle SS V8 LHD coupe ($28,000 - $36,000) and at the top of the price range is a 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 KR Fastback LHD, expected to sell for $150,000 - $165,000. The car is one of the last GT500 'King of the Road' Shelbys for 1968 and is documented by the Shelby American Registry. It also comes with a Marti report, the original build sheet and a recent Shelby identification report.
For the Holden collector, there are three HQ models including a one-owner, original 1971 HQ LS Monaro 253 coupe ($20,000 - $25,000). Other Holdens include a 1985 VK Brock replica ($8000 - $10,000 with no reserve), a restored 1974 LH Torana SL/R 5000 sedan in period Sunburst Gold colour with black interior ($46,000 - $54,000) and a 1967 HR Premier sedan which has been used sparingly since its restoration in 1999 ($10,000 - $15,000 with no reserve).
Listed at Lot 5 is a recently restored 1970 Leyland Mini Moke with a guiding range of $15,000 - $20,000. Looking back at the 2012 Melbourne Summer Classic auction, a humble 1972 Mini Moke Tourer - with a guiding range of $14,000 - $18,000 - sold for a staggering $27,000.

- 1949 MG TC roadster: $35,000 - $40,000
- 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300B sedan: $35,000 - $45,000
- c1956 Jaguar 'D-Type' recreation: $34,000 - $40,000
- 1976 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 coupe: $32,000 - $38,000
- 1969 BMW 2000C coupe: $28,000 - $34,000
- 1926 Chenard Senechal Boat Tail roadster: $18,000 - $22,000
- 1965 Cadillac Deville RHD convertible: $17,000 - $22,000
- 1946 Buick 8/40 RHD sedan: $15,000 - $20,000
Plus a total of 12 Victorian number plates, including '92' ($190,000 - $220,000) and '98' ($185,000 - $215,000).
