2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Nissan 1978-1992

Australia’s R31 Skylines spent decades being ignored and recycled before younger owners decided that survivors were worth not only saving but celebrating. Values are climbing, due to growing demand and the number of cars being restored and modified.

Every version will find a buyer but most in demand are manual Silhouttes which can exceed $15,000. Luxury Ti sedans and five-speed versions of the GX and GXE are climbing too and the very scarce SVD cars now usually sell above $35,000.

Being dragged along for the ride are Aussie-made 1980s Bluebirds, which now cost $6000-8000. Limited-production TR-X versions at $10-12,000 are very scarce but the later U13 series SSS hasn’t as yet rung any bells with collectors.

Bluebird 1981-86 $9615 (6)
Bluebird TR-X 1982-86 $10,500 (1)
Skyline R31 Sedan/Wagon $8480 (15)
Skyline Silhouette $13,000 (4)
Skyline SVD Series 1 $37,250 (2)
Skyline SVD Series 2 $44,990 (1)
