2022 Market Review - Holden HD-HR

Ignore the six-figure sums occasionally paid for rare X2 Premiers, because in general these mid-1960s Holdens offer decent value allied to durability.

HD versions were more likely than the HR to be scrapped once rust appeared, so we now have a situation where HD values are climbing more rapidly than those of the more common HR. HD Premiers in particular are scarce and good cars can bring more than $50,000.

HR Premiers during the first half of 2022 were quite difficult to find and the best auction result seen was a hammer price of $39,000. Modified cars are common and these usually won’t match the values of showroom-stock originals. Panel vans are scarce, utilities similar in value to sedans.
