2023 Market Review - Holden Torana LC-LJ/LH-LX/SS/L34/A9X

Good news for lovers of six-cylinder Toranas came late in the year when an LJ XU1 in genuinely excellent condition was knocked down at auction for a very respectable $270,000.

A glimmer in a declining market and following the disappointing $168,250 of some weeks earlier. At the V8 end of the spectrum though, two A9X Hatchbacks remained unsold at over $600,000 and will probably take $150K haircuts before finding buyers. Sedans in the $350-450,000 range stand a better chance.

LX SS Hatchbacks are down significantly on 2022, with one car advertised at $295,000 but the quality of others was lacking, including one that made just $64,000 at auction.

V8 SL Hatchbacks at $100,000 looked decent value but some V8 sedans offered at similar money weren’t genuine V8s. Correctly numbered and excellent SL/R 5000s can manage $150,000.

LC GTR $90,500 [4]

LC XU1 $245,000 [1]

LJ GTR $140,000 [2]

LJ XU1 $201,285 [4]

LH-LX V8 Sedan/Hatch $103,090 [10]

LH-LX SL/R 5000 $141,050 [4]

LX SS Hatch $129,775 [4]

L34/A9X Sedan $383,000 [3]

A9X Hatch $637,500 [2]
