2022 Market Review - Subaru 4WD/Brumby/Liberty 1973-2010

Subaru has been selling cars in Australia for almost 50 years and plenty from the past 40 have survived. A couple of exceptional Brumby 4WD utes sold for $20,000+ and encouraged other vendors to increase their prices, but so far the trend hasn’t affected other early Subarus.

L Series wagons from the 1980s sell for less than $5000 and we saw a shabby example of an RX 4WD Turbo for $3500. Early All-Wheel Drive Liberty sedans and wagons remain cheap, with even the Liberty RS and twin-turbo B4 remaining below $15,000. Gen. 4 Turbo GT and flat-six B-Spec models offer practical performance to Liberty buyers and most cost less than $15,000.

Liberty GTs with STI tuning are rare and although a lot of available cars have travelled significant distances, asking prices are high.
